Please say yes

(Cole POV)

It was after training and after getting some advice from Jay I decided to ask Kai out to the movies. Nice and simple but I hoped he would say yes.

I was about to knock on the door to his room when.

BEEP BEEP!

That startled me and I looked out the window to see a elderly couple in a car it looked like they put together themselves drive up. I look go outside and saw Jay groaning about how he shouldn't have put a return address on his letters. So they were his parents? Well that explains the need to talk every five minutes and the noise.

Everyone came out and the couple introduced themselves. They were Ed and Edna and really were Jay's parents. They weren't even there for five minutes before they started embarrassing Jay like their was no tomorrow. And I needed some payback for Jay's teasing about my crush so I implored them to tell more embarrassing stories.

We all listened while Jay looked mortified. "You're parents are so nice Jay," Kai comments after his parents embarrassed him in front of Nya. "Hey mom dad love you guys but it's getting dark and there are snakes on the loose." Jay said. "Oh he's right Ed we better get going," Edna said. "Aww and I was hoping to know more about Jay kissing a pillow," I pout and Jay was redder than Kai's gi. They left and we were all laughing at Jay's embarrassment.

"Now everyone we shouldn't patronize Jay for kissing *giggles* pillows*giggles*" Wu said and Jay groans going to his room. "I sense we won't be seeing him this week," Zane comments.

It was late and we went to bed. Hopefully I could work up the courage tomorrow.

Tomorrow

After the whole incident with the Fangpyre and saying goodbye to Rocky I was honestly pretty upset. I loved that scaly dragon he was the best dragon I could ask for.

"You okay Cole?" I heard a voice say above me. I looked up and saw Kai there with a look of worry. "Yeah just gonna miss Rocky," I shrugged. Kai sat down next to me. "Want to talk about it?" He asks. I smiled and talked about what I thought and how much I loved that dragon like family. Kai just sat and listen didn't interrupt me let me get all my worries and anxiety out.

"Yeah I honestly found it kinda adorable how much you loved that dragon. You had the closet bond out of all of us and after you being so scared of them. Well it's something to admire about," Kai said and I perk up. "Really?" I ask. "Yeah there's a reason your the leader your someone who knows how to gain someone's trust even if they don't want to trust you," Kai comments and I try to hide the blush. "You really think so?" I ask. He looks right at me with his beautiful amber eyes. "I know so," he said.

Dam it butterflies in my stomach I wouldn't be surprised if I coughed one up. "Hey Kai? I was wondering?" I start and he looks at me expectantly. "Yeah?" He asks. "Would you like to go to the movies with me?" I blurt out.

He looks surprised and I was mortified he would say no before nodding his head smiling. "Of course when and what time?" He asks. "Tomorrow at five?" I suggest. "See you then," he said and got up leaving the room with a grin on his face.

Don't be a dream he said yes! He said yes!

Time skip to tomorrow because I'm lazy

Jay helped me pick out a outfit which was a pair of black jeans a grey sweater over a sports top. I went to Kai's door and he was ready wearing a shirt with a flame, brown jeans, and a red hoodie.

"Ready to go?" I ask and he nodded. We said bye to the others and left to go see the movies. We walked there chatting about life when we finally arrived and looked at the movie options. "Should we see it?" I suggest. "I was thinking jumanji," he shrugs. "Oh is the oh so brave master of fire scared of a clown?" I tease poking his sides. "Okay fine I'll buy popcorn," he agrees going to get the popcorn. "Don't forget the chocolate," I tell him and he nodded.

I bought the tickets and he came with the popcorn. We found pretty good seats and sat down to watch the movie. At one jump scare I dropped my popcorn and hugged Kai's waist tightly.

"Cole can't breath," he chokes out. I let go blushing but he doesn't mind if anything he's blushing more than me. We share his popcorn the rest of the movie. On another jump scare he hugs me this time. I blush like crazy and I looped a arm around his shoulder.

The rest of the movie flew by and we left going to dinner. After we had dinner we took a detour through the park. It was a crystal clear night and the stars were shining. I took a deep breath.

"Hey Kai?" I ask and he looked at me. "Yes?" He asks nervously. "I had fun tonight and..." I took a deep breath here goes nothing. "Kai I've had a crush on you since I first saw you. I love you but it's okay if you don't love me back," I say nervously. There's silence for a moment before I feel his warm hand in mine. "I love you too," Kai confesses and I was so happy I kissed him. He kissed back and man he was a great kisser. I couldn't have asked for a better night if I even tried.
