Surprises

(Reminder I do not know much about how a pregnancy goes besides some symptoms the stomach and you need at least nine months for a healthy child)

Since the oni invasion it had been pretty quiet with the occasional mission here and there or attempted break out at the prison. Kai was not dealing with the obvious baby bump he had being almost halfway through term. Today was the day of the baby's third ultrasound during the first one the parents both shed tears seeing the baby and today they would find out the babies gender. When it was announced Kai was pregnant all of Ninjago was buzzing though Kai and Cole were upset that Ninjago had found out fearing somebody might go after the baby. Luckily though they had their friends and family to help them. When Ray and Maya found out they were super excited to be getting grandchildren when Lou found out he did a dance and asked if they already had some names in mind. Apparently he and Cole had the same suggested name to be Lilly if it was a girl. Kai agreed to the name since it obviously meant a lot to the both of them. They originally did not plan for Ninjago ever finding out about their child for protective purposes, but after the battle and the fact they had a news crew in their home for safety Gale Gossip used their bathroom and found the positive tests. She did learn from her last scoop though and 'accidentally' bragged about her find to a rival who took credit for it and ended up being demoted along with a suspension. The ninja did not even need to sue this time even the news department knew the guy had seriously messed up.

Kai and Cole arrived at the hospital and checked in for their appointment. "How you feeling honey?" Cole asked Kai as they sat waiting. "Anxious and fat," Kai answers and Cole laughed. "Well no matter how fat you are you will always be gorgeous in my eyes," Cole answers putting a hand on Kai's stomach. Cole felt a kick and Kai winces. "It definitely has your strength," Kai jokes. "Looks like we have a new earth master on our way," Cole said excited. He still felt a parental tingle every time he felt a kick and so did Kai.

"Brookestone?" A nurse calls out. "Here," Cole said helping Kai up and went to the room. Kai laid down waiting for the doctor. "Are we going to tell them the gender?" Kai asks. "Do you want to know the gender?" Cole asks. Kai shrugs his shoulders. "You know I think the others are placing bets on the gender," Kai said and Cole chuckles. "I know I placed a bet too," Cole said and Kai playfully hit him. "But your the father that is unfair," Kai said. "No it is a advantage," Cole corrects with a smug voice and Kai rolled his eyes. The doctor came in with a comforting smile. "So you want to know the gender today?" She asks. The two nodded and the doctor looked at Kai's stomach and then his smiles shifted to a confused expression. "Are you sure your only in your fourth month? It looks further along," the doctor said. "Yeah we are very sure," Kai answers. The doctor shrugs her shoulders and got to it. She put the gel on Kai's stomach and then used the wand to find the gender. "First child I'm assuming?" She asks. "Yes," Cole said. "And you have the birth plan planned out correct?" The doctor asks. Since Kai was a boy they had gone to a few doctors and found the safest course for both the baby and Kai was a surgery to have it removed straight from his stomach. "Yes very carefully," Cole said. "And you have been going with the basic guidelines? No drugs, alcohol, and watching your sugar?" The doctor asks as a image appears on the screen. "Of course I have a certified doctor at home making sure," Kai said.

The doctor looked at the image and her face turned to shocked looking back and forth from the stomach to the screen. The parents got a bad feeling and looked to each other. "Is something wrong with our baby?" Cole asks worried. "Give me a second I just want to be sure," the doctor said as she moved the wand around and looking the screen. "Well that is a surprise," the doctor said. "What? Is something wrong with my baby?" Kai asks expecting the worse. "No quite the opposite. It is a miracle they did not find it sooner," The doctor said. "What is it? Do not leave us in the dark here," Cole said getting impatient. The doctor turns the screen and the soon to be parents eyes bulged. On the screen was not just one baby, but three! And the heartbeats to go with them. "Your expecting triplets," the doctor said with a happy face. After a moment of silence as they took it in Cole fainted on the floor. The doctor looked over as Kai shook his head. "Should I get a medic?" The doctor asks. "No just give him a moment so what are the genders?" Kai asks. Indeed after a moment Cole woke up and when he realized having triplets was not a dream he was ecstatic.

"Should we tell the others?" Kai asks as they came back from the appointment. "The genders no, but that we have triplets on the way? I am not really sure," Cole answers. "How about we tell the masters? I think it would be wise to at least tell them, but let's keep it a secret from the others I would like to see their surprise when we introduce them," Kai said. Cole smiles. "Yeah and I guess it is a good thing Sensei G and Misako are moving out now we have more room for the triplets," Cole comments.

Once they arrived at the monastery they were asked about the baby's gender, but they just smiled at each other and did not answer.

Few months later

The ninja had decided to make a surprise for Kai and Cole was in on the surprise. "This would be easier if someone would tell us the gender," Jay said with a pointed glare at Cole as they were putting up decorations and the finishing touches. "Never telling," Cole said. "Is it a girl?" Nya asks. "I bet it's a boy," Lloyd said. "All that I am going to say is that you just need to wait," Cole said. "Come on Cole," Jay said in a almost begging manner. "No," Cole said. "And done," Zane said as they stepped back admiring their handy work.

They had made a nursery and since only the parents and masters knew the genders it had a combination of all their respective colours. There was a changing table at one side of the room, a sectioned off carpet for playtime with toys for the babies (not that the others knew their was more than one) a chest filled with toys and clothes, a soft ground that had their colours on them, a night light, and finally a baby camera already set up. "Cole why do we already have two extra cribs?" Zane asks pointing to two crib boxes in the corner. "Oh not sure if it is the hormones or not, but Kai said to be sure of the best products we should buy extra stuff. I'll return them to the store later," Cole answers with a smile. "I still do not get why the baby is getting the biggest room out of all of us," Lloyd said. "Because Sensei Wu was kind enough to let us make his meditation room into the nursery," Nya said. "I cannot wait until Kai sees this he is going to be pumped," Cole said.

They left the room to go find Kai who was mostly bed ridden carrying three babies and due any day now. They then heard glass break followed by a pained gasp. Cole rushed to the kitchen finding Kai who was clutching his stomach and breathing hard. Cole rushed to Kai's side holding him up. "Fire-bird what's wrong? Did the baby kick harder this time?" Cole asked. "No *gasp* Cole I think my water broke," Kai said and everyone was stiff before Kai let out a scream of pain. "But the baby is not due for another week," Cole said in a panic. "Cole my scans say he is in labour right now you need to get to the hospital. Now!" Zane said. Cole looked to Kai who looked to Cole. "Come on let's go," Cole said as he helped Kai get into their fastest mech and went to the hospital.

Baby is on it's way please give me names and genders here and btw I always planned for triplets they always have the surprise be twins let's up it one and seriously I need name suggestions badly
