Cole X Kai

Never Realm

I changed the ending of the last chapter so check that out first if you have not read that

Nya was up staring at the roof of her room. She had another nightmare only it was real Kai and Zane are gone and aren't coming back. Her big brother who she could always rely on for support was gone. Nya got up and decided to go to the nursery room and saw Cole sitting in the rocking chair seemingly staring into nothingness. Nya sighs sadly it was not the first time she found Cole in here like this. Loosing Zane and Kai had hit everyone pretty hard. Pixal had lost one of the few people who could truly understand her and Echo had lost a big brother he had only just gotten back. Echo had even been distracting himself from Zane's absence by watching over the triplets. He said it just distracted him from the pain of loosing a big brother Nya could relate in a way. Cole he just was not himself he cried every time he had looked at the his own children and that spark in his eyes was gone.

"Cole?" Nya asks him slightly. Cole looked up and blinks registering Nya was there. "Oh hey Nya I thought I heard Onyx crying and," Cole starts. "You don't need to lie to me Cole you couldn't sleep either could you?" Nya asks. Cole sighs. "No I couldn't have asked sleep," Cole admits. "Want to talk?" Nya asks. "What is there to talk about?" Cole responds. Nya does not respond and just  C held Cole's hand.

"I don't want to turn into him," Cole said. "Turn into who?" Nya asks. "My dad...after mum died he became so different choosing to focus only on music and dancing ignoring me. He wanted me to be something I never was going to be happy doing. What if I become that? What if I?" Cole starts before being cut off by Nya. "Cole you don't need to worry. You have your family, you have them, you have our friends," Nya said. "But we don't have Zane or," Cole said cuts himself off it was still painful to say his name. It had only been two days and Nya was not sure how to help him; she wasn't sure how to help herself. "I want them to have better. I don't want them to think I was never around, I just can't look at them without crying. Nya I can't do this without him. I owed Zane my life Kai was my life," Cole said his voice cracking at the past tense. "Cole you can do this you just need time to," Nya starts. "I'm thinking of leaving them with your parents," Cole said out of the blue. "That's understandably you need time to come with terms and," Nya was cut off. "No I mean permanently. I can't be a father who their always afraid won't come back, but I also can't stop being a ninja I took a oath," Cole explains to Nya. Nya was shell shocked. "Cole but you can't they were Kai's too they deserve to at least," Nya was cut off again. "Don't tell me what they deserve! I am the father I say what's best for them," Cole said getting angry. "What's best for them? Or what's best for you? Because your just running away from your responsibilities!" Nya said raising her voice. Cole stood out of the chair. "I am not running away from anything!" Cole said his voice rising as well. "Kai had every right to leave me instead of giving up everything to watch over me! He wouldn't be leaving his children because he was afraid he would never be there for them! You're giving them up because you are too selfish to see you weren't the only one who lost someone!" Nya argues her fist clenched. "I'm not! I just can't do it without him," Cole defends. "It won't help to get rid of them it will only make the pain worse," Nya said. "I don't care their not yours!" Cole said stomping his foot. "But their my niece and nephews I have just as much say in their future as you," Nya said. "No! You have no say because you don't understand what a parent sometimes has to do for the safety of their young! It's safest option for them," Cole said. Nya glared at Cole. "Kai would be disappointed in you," Nya said and Cole fisted his knuckles. "Your mother never stopped being their for you even on her death bed. At least your father didn't just send you away he tried connecting even if it wasn't the right way to do it. You your just abandoning them for your own selfishness," Nya hisses. "At least I was old enough to look after myself. And my decision isn't final I just need time I....I might come back for them once I can look at them without being reminded of those we lost," Cole then walked out of the nursery. Nya sighs before a sob racked her body then a tear fell before she was full on crying her eyes out it was a miracle the babies didn't wake.
