Okay I probably should've said this earlier or you already figured it out but I'm going to have time skips often and this is when the ninja all meet Cole's dad

Cole's POV)

I can't believe my dad would say something like that to Kai. It was clearly affecting him because he was a lot more self conscious when around my dad.

Jay and Zane knew my dad said something mean to Kai just not what exactly. They ignored it for the mission though and we danced with my dad making comments whether encouraging or not.

"Good Zane faster twirl," dad said as Zane nods.

"Jay slower steps stay to the rhythm otherwise perfect," Dad said and Jay took the advice.

"Cole focus on the music," Dad said to me and I roll my eyes and nod.

"Kai stop being a distraction you siren," dad spat and I glare at him because Kai wasn't being a distraction he was in total sync with the rest of us.

He gulps and nodded his head. "That's all the time for today the contest is tomorrow so hopefully you can pull it off. And just because I'm a judge doesn't mean you'll be getting any favours," my dad said and we nodded. Once he left Jay and Kai practically collapsed. "He's worse than Wu," Jay said.

"Question what's a siren?" Kai asks. "A mythological beast that was said to lure sailors to their doom using their voices to hypnotize them," Zane informs. "Of course," Kai mutters.

It pained me to see the one I love acting so different and timid. He was usually full of energy and acted before thinking things through. Now he seemed to scared to look in my direction.

"Hey Kai want to go out tonight? You look like you could use it," I said. He shrugs. "Where were you thinking?" He asks. "There's a restaurant down the street and they have the best cake desserts," I said and he smiles something I've missed the past two days.

"Sure but I call dibs paying," he said. "No I pay," I protest. "Come on rocky you paid for our last date it's my turn," Kai argues with a cocky smile. "Fine at least I can go crazy on the dessert," I said smirking. "If you throw up the dessert no kisses," Kai jokes with a wink and I blush.

"Aww you two are adorable," Jay said. "Agree," Zane said. We both blush that time.

I left to my room to grab my coat. "Got your wallet?" I ask Kai. He nods and shows it to me smiling. We left out the front door and I lead the way the restaurant hand in hand. We got there and got seated. It wasn't any place fancy it was just a regular place to dine out and have a nice time.

"So Cole how are you going?" Kai asks and I shrug. "Didn't like my dad calling you a siren," I comment. "Yeah but I looked them up while you grabbed your coat and they were also said to be very beautiful so I'm taking it as a compliment," Kai said and I chuckle. Without my dad's judging eye Kai's right back to his old self.

We talked and ordered our food. Once we ate that I still had room for dessert so that's what I ordered. I had a fudge chocolate cake while Kai had a vanilla cake with chocolate icing. When that came I immediately dig into it like no tomorrow and Kai watches amassed.

"Wapht?" I asks with my mouth full of cake trying to say "what?" He understood me though and laughs. "Can you get more adorable?" He asks me and I blush as I finished the plate clean. Kai paid for the bill as agreed but I still tried to convince him to split it. He said no being the stubborn hottie he is and we walked back.

"You still got some icing on your face," Kai said. I wipe my face. "Did I get it?" I ask. He shook his head and kissed my cheek licking away the frosting. "Got it," he said. I smiled lovingly at him. We got back home and the other two were already asleep.

"I had fun thanks Cole," Kai thanks and gives me a goodnight peck on the lips. "Well you've been very collected while we're here I wanted to thank you for it even if you didn't let me pay," I pout at the last part and he raises a eyebrow. "Collected?" He inquired. "You usually punch or argue when someone who offends you or anyone else you care about. And my dad's been a jerk to you all week so Thanks for not lashing out," I thank and he shrugs. "I just need to stay on task and my task is you," he says and kisses me again before leaving to go to bed. I walk through the hall and saw dad on the couch with a grouchy expression.

"Why didn't you tell me you were going out?" He asks me.

"Because I didn't want you cornering Kai and making him feel bad. You've been judging him ever since we got here when he's been nothing but polite." I say.

"He's a bad influence for you son," dad said and I cross my arms. "Dad he's not like your first love." I say having been told the story when I first started the dating game. Dad's first love left him after his first time and dad said if it wasn't for mom he wouldn't have ever dated again.

"It's not that Cole," he said. "Then what is it? Why don't you like him?" I ask. "He clearly didn't get that good on his own," Dad said clearly making up and excuse. "Dad your so judgemental if someone younger than you is better at something than you. And calling him a slut is a bit far and unfair," I said with a glare. "I'm just making sure he doesn't hurt you Cold he's a bad influence," Dad said.

"He's anything but that. Dad I love him just like you loved mom and I don't care what you say or think because I know him and you don't," I said deadly serious. Dad sighed. "He's not right for you. You should focus more on your dancing," Dad said and I broke yelling at him.

"I'm not a dancer I'm a ninja! We're all ninja Kai hadn't even heard of the school before coming here. I fight and I'm sorry if that makes me a disappointment but it's what I love," I yelled at him. He's silent before giving a disappointed sigh and leaving the room without another word. I felt tears running down my cheeks and turn to leave I see Kai already asleep in bed and I crawl in with him. He wakes up slightly and looked at me with tired eyes.

"Everything okay babe?" He asks me. "Yeah just felt like holding you go back to sleep," I tell him and he nodded returning to dream land in my arms.

In the morning we arrive at the theatre and I see dad as one of the judges. I sweat bullets but Kai gives my hand a reassuring squeeze and smiles.

I smile back not telling him about last night. We got called on and the serpentine attacked us while dancing. We attacked and I did the triple tiger Sasha the ground going wild as the others beat off the serpentine in style as they did so.

We won by a landslide even Pythor eating a judge we still won. Back stage I had Kai wrapped around my arm and the blade cup in the other. We were kissing when I heard a voice.

"Cole?" I turn and it was dad. He looked guilty and I turned to face him fully.

"I'm sorry for last night. I shouldn't have been upset about you being a ninja and I shouldn't have been mean to Kai. I just...didn't want to loose you. You're all I have and I thought if you did a dangerous job or got in a relationship you would forget about me and leave me. It was selfish and I'm sorry to both of you," Dad apologizes. I smiled and hugged him with happy tears in my eyes. "I forgive you," I said.

Dad looks at Kai. "If it helps I took siren as a compliment and it's fine. I'm pretty protective of Nya so I can see where you're coming from," Kai said with a nod. Dad looked relieved and whispers in my ear. "He's a keeper," I blush.

Suddenly a loud crash comes from above and equipment falls on us.

(Kai's POV)

"COLE!" We all scream as metal fell on him and his dad. I had tears in my eyes and Zane was rubbing my back when Cole lifted the wreckage from under him and threw it off helping his dad up. Cole was glowing and slightly transparent.

"Cole you unlocked your true potential," Jay said excited as he stopped glowing. I ran over and knocked him off his feet in a hug. "Ever make me think your dead again and you will be dead," I said and he chuckles kissing my hair. "No promises firebird," he chuckles.

"They got away with the fang blade," Zane sighs. "We still got two more chances," I said and Cole nodded ready to take on whatever now I just need to open my true potential.
