Cole X Kai

Don't compare

(Another between seasons chapter because I felt like it)

"Cole," Kai said shaking his yang up. "No sleep come back later," Cole said turning over. "Cole just because were in another realm don't expect me to forget," Kai said in a bit of a scolding manner. "Forget what? Is it your birthday?" Cole asks still not fully awake. "Close it's your birthday," Kai said. Cole sprang up awake. He then realized it indeed was his birthday.

"Can't believe I forgot it was my birthday," Cole said scratching his head. Kai laughs and kissed his cheek. "Yeah I'm the one who's meant to forget," Kai jokes to Cole. "You could have let me sleep in at least," he said. "Nope I wanted to give you my present," Kai said. "We've been stuck in another realm for the past week what could you have gotten me that-," Cole starts before Kai pulls out a pastry box from behind his back. Cole was wide eyed and took it opening it up to see a chocolate fudge cupcake with flower candies on top of it. From the box it was from his favourite bakery that was almost impossible to get from because everyone liked the place. Just a cupcake costed 200$.

And from how it felt it was warm. He looked at Kai then pinched himself. Ouch

Yep he was not dreaming. "How?" Cole starts. "I was going to give it to you after we celebrated at Laughies and stored it in the freezer. I checked with Zane he says it's still safe to eat and I heated it up a little with my powers to make it seem freshly baked. It's not much," Kai starts before Cole safely put the box to the side of the cot and grabbed his yang around the waist and pulled him in for a hug littering his face and neck with kisses.

"I love you, I love you, I love you," Cole said repeatedly. "Yeah yeah I'm awesome now eat the cake," Kai laughs. Cole did so enjoying every second of it. Once he finished Kai licked off some that was on his cheek. "Your welcome, but now I feel bad for not sharing with the others," Cole said a little wistful. Kai shrugs it off.

"Who says I got it for just you?" Kai asks with a smug grin. Cole was about to ask when Jay and Zane's heads along with a little Garmadon's head mouth covered in white icing pops in. "Timed it. That took five minutes to eat the longest it has ever taken for Cole to eat," Zane said. "And thanks for the cupcakes Kai," Jay said eating the last of his cake Kai gave him. "Don't thank me thank Nya she got that one for you personally like I got Cole's the others we decided on together," Kai said with a modest shrug. At the mention of Nya Jay got a little sad and left.

"He misses Nya," Zane said. "Who?" Little Garmadon asks. "His girlfriend," Cole explains. "Girls have cooties," little Garmadon said and they all crack a smile. "Should we talk to him?" Kai asks. "Well it's your sister he misses," Cole points out. "And your his best friend," Kai counters. "Birthday wish is that you talk to him and then I talk to him," Cole counters. Kai rolls his eyes and went to find Jay. He found Jay behind some boulders looking at a picture of him and Nya at their last date at the amusement park.

"Hey Jay?" Kai asks slowly and Jay looked up and Kai realized he had been crying. "Go away," Jay said. Kai didn't and walked closer to Jay who hugged his knees to his chest. "You miss her don't you?" Kai asks. "She probably doesn't even miss me," Jay said in a murmur. "Of course she does she's probably crying her eyes out for you," Kai said. "And why should she? I'm just a annoyance," Jay said. "Jay your not a annoyance Nya loves you," Kai said in a comforting manner. "Not like you and Cole," Jay mutters and Kai does a double take. "Are you seriously comparing my relationship with yours?" Kai asks sitting down next to Jay.

Jay blushes and looked away. "Maybe," he admits. Kai sighs. "Why?" Kai asked. Jay hesitates before answering. "You both never argue with eat other you don't have fights the only fight you've ever had was when you were hiding your water powers from him. You too are always so loving to each other me and Nya don't have that we fight, we've been on breaks, we've-" Jay was about to continue before Kai cuts in. "Jay! Me and Cole have had fights about a lot of things! Cole complains about me flirting with others, I complain about Cole on not trusting me, Cole says I spend too much time in the bathroom, I say Cole spends to much money on cake. We are far from perfect, but we only have these fights when others aren't around then just put on a act that everything is fine till the fight is over. The thing about my powers and how Cole thought I was cheating was the only one he ever told you about," Kai said. "I'm his best friend why would he hide that from me?" Jay asks with more snark than he meant. "Because when one has a fight it's uncomfortable and tense for everyone. We never wanted to bother you guys with our problems and I have gone to Nya about a few of the worse fights. Cole just prefers to take his frustrations out on training and eating," Kai said in a comforting manner with a hand over Jay's shoulder. Jay didn't say anything.

"Jay describe how you see Nya," Kai orders Jay. "She's smart, pretty, skilled, head strong," Jay lists off. "And you knocked her up," Kai said bluntly. Jay blushes red and starts stuttering. "N-no I didn't," Jay starts. "Jay your a terrible liar also Nya's my sister I checked her room and found the pills also she told me," Kai said and Jay goes redder. "I swear I didn't hurt her!" He defends. Kai calms him down by putting his hand over Jay's mouth. "Jay I trust you," Kai said. Jay calms down a little, but was still scared Kai might burn him. "I know you would never hurt her. Jay she loves you sometimes I'm jealous of your relationship. Don't compare your relationship that's when things go wrong. Just trust everything will turn out alright," Kai said to Jay. Jay seemed to tear up again. He hugged Kai tightly and the fire/water ninja  hugged back as Jay cries out all the stress onto his gi. 

"I want Nya to be my yang," Jay blurts our when he had finally calmed down. "You don't need my blessing go ahead when we get back home you can ask her," Kai said. Jay tears up again and hugged Kai again saying thank you like a hundred times over. "I thought you would burn me if you found out," Jay admits. "I tried," Kai admits. "But I realized as long as Nya was happy and not pregnant before becoming a yang I'm happy," Kai said to Jay. Jay smiles shyly and laughed. "Thanks Kai I feel a lot better now," Jay said. "No problem," Kai said with a shrug.

"Now let's go give Cole a birthday prank," Jay said back to his old self. "Yes!" Kai said jumping up as they ran off to give a birthday prank to Cole.
