Cole X Kai

Tournament

Kai was training with the others and he was holding back. He kicked and slashed the dummies but never used his powers and that was worrying the ninja a lot. The more he disappeared the more Cole was worried about him and that he was cheating on him.

Cole went to Jay about it.

"Am I not good enough?" Cole asks Jay as they sat in his room. Jay gave him a tired sigh. "Cole I know you'd do anything for him but everyone is worried for him," Jay said to his best friend. "But he's my boyfriend! Why is he avoiding me! Did I do something wrong? Is he cheating on me? Did something happen?" Cole asks all these questions to Jay. Jay stops him and shakes him hard looking him dead in the eyes.

"Cole shut up! Your the kindest person ever and Kai should be lucky to have you. But he isn't cheating on you that's not who he is and you both know it. I don't know what's happening with him but it's not that," Jay said sternly. "Then what is it?" Cole asks teary eyed. "I don't know," Jay admits. "But we're going to find out," he said determined.

Jay and Cole go to Kai's room in time for him them to find him trying to leave again. Jay pushed him back into his room and locked the door with Cole next to him. "Kai are you cheating on me?" Cole asks.

"What!? Cole Rocky I would never do that to you I love you with my life," Kai said sincerely. "Than where have you been disappearing to? What have you been doing?" Cole asks. Kai's silent and doesn't answer looking away. That's enough of a answer for Cole. "Guess I'm just not good enough," Cole said eyes tearing up as he ran out the door.

"Cole wait!" Kai yells after him but Jay holds him.

"I didn't cheat on him," Kai defends. "Than why have you been disappearing why have you been distant? What is so bad!" Jay yells. "Jay shut up!" Kai yells and turns around and the bathroom connected to the room blows up. Jay looks confused while Kai looks horrified and runs out.

Jay was pretty confused why did Kai look so scared by the sink suddenly blowing up? It was weird but nothing to be scared about. Kai was hiding something from everyone and he was going to find out. Jay went to find Cole to talk to him. He found his best friend taking his frustrations out on a dummy or what used to be a dummy.

"Cole I don't think Kai's cheating on you. I think he's scared of something," Jay said slowly to his best friend. Cole looked back at him and it was clear he'd been crying. "What could he be hiding from me?" Cole demands. "I don't know but he needs to tell us and I know how we're going to do it," Jay said a idea already in his head.

Later at Chen's noodles

"This was Jay's idea wasn't it?" Kai asked deadpanned as he was cornered in the booth of Chen's noodles. Jay's idea was to get Kai to pick up take out follow him then corner him in one of the booths. "And it's worked so far," Cole shrugs. "Bye," Kai tried getting out of the booth only to be blocked by Nya.

"Bro come on what's up with you? I haven't seen you like this since mum and dad disappeared," Nya said concerned. "I'm fine," Kai said. Cole took his hand in his and made him look at him. "Please just let us help you," Cole pleads. Kai looked away and crossed his arms. "You wouldn't understand," he said. They were all concerned for Kai's well being because whatever was doing this to him it was taking a toll on his mental state. Before they could continue questioning him a couple thugs came in. They caused a ruckus that the ninja dealt with. The waiter came over and thanks them before they all felt a prick in their necks and everything went dark.

When Nya awoke she was alone and her friends were missing.

Meanwhile with the ninja they all woke up groaning finding themselves on a boat along with Garmadon. "What's going on?" Lloyd groans. "Chen has kidnapped you for his tournament of elements I found you but was out numbered I was taken along with you," Garmadon said clearly worried. Kai got up mad.

"Tournament of elements?!" He yells. They're were other people on the boat all of them showing some form of their power. "You and Wu said there wasn't anybody else like us!" Kai yelled at him. Garmadon remains calm. "We lead you to believe you were special you were the only one who questioned where your powers came from," Garmadon said calmly. "Are you saying I'm not special?" Jay asks getting ignored.

"You lied to us!" Kai yells. "We did it to protect you," Garmadon defends. "We should've known you can't keep keeping these secret from us," Kai argues. "We has good reason," Garmadon said. Cole put a hand on Kai's shoulder to calm him down even though he was pretty upset too. Kai was silently fuming the rest of the way as Garmadon explains the history of elemental masters. "What about master of water?" Kai asked as Garmadon was listing off the elements. Garmadon pauses and thought about his next words.

"There is no master of water," he said calmly. "Liar," Kai mutters under his breath but wasn't heard.

They arrived at the island and met Chen he was pretty much a child. They each got their rooms Kai was in a sour mood the whole time. The tournament commences.

(Big time skip like imagine after all the fighting and story stuff. I tried writing it but couldn't come up with anything so this is the part where Chen takes all their powers...well almost and Lloyd is with them)

"And now Clouse cast the spell!" Chen orders Clouse. Skylor looks at Kai who even though he had no reason he made friends with her not because he wanted to win but because in his words. "It looked like you needed a friend,"

She turns to her father. "Father please spare Kai he can be useful," Skylor pleads with Chen. Chen smiles amused and allowed Kai to be released from his chains.

Kai's POV

When I was released from my chains I felt my power return not my fire power but different I felt my power of water. Chen must not have taken it because he didn't know about it. Clouse started casting the spell as his followers chanted it looked like the spell had started as scales grew on them but then it stopped and they turned human again. They were all confused and Chen was furious.

"Clouse! Why didn't it work?" Chen yells at the sorcerer. Clouse was just confused as Chen. "I don't know master we have all the unlocked elements," Clouse responds. I looked at Skylor she knew I had the element of water after she absorbed it but she hasn't told them. She motions for me to do something so I do it. I kicked the staff away from Chen and grabbed it.

"Daughter! Do something!" Chen orders Skylor. "Sorry dad I don't favour being a snake," Skylor responds. I quickly smashed it against the ground and all our elements returned. I heard a crash and turned seeing Cole and the rest of the elemental masters who had been disqualified run out some went to help the others the rest fought the cult members.

"Cole!" I yelled in glee at seeing he was okay. Cole ran over and kissed me clearly as glad to see me as I was him. "Ready to kick butt firebird?" Cole asked. "Always rocky," I replied and we fought off Chen. He managed to get away but we were still going to find him it was a small island.

While everyone was celebrating and trying to figure out why the spell didn't work I pulled Cole aside in what used to be his room. He was confused as to why I was doing this but I needed to tell him. "Cole I just want to say I've been selfish disappearing for hours and not telling anyone where I was going. We're a couple and we shouldn't keep secrets," I tell him he gave me a look saying he was curious. "Are you going to admit you were cheating on me?" Cole asks.

I was honestly a little hurt he would think that. "No! That's not what I was doing listen you see...it's easier if I just show you. It's the reason Clouse's spell didn't work." I tell him holding out a hand. I took a deep breath and summoned a small orb of water in my palm. I looked at Cole who was dumbfounded. I let it drop become it took a lot of energy out of me. "I was trying to learn how to keep my powers in check without telling the Senseis. I didn't know about other elemental masters and I was scared I was a freak." I admit looking at the floor. I expected yelling or anger but he took my chin and tilted my head up. "Your not a freak and I'm glad you told me but it doesn't explain why you've been so distant," Cole said cupping my cheek in concern and I was close to tears.

"I've been having trouble with both my powers. My fire's been acting up when my emotions become too strong along with the water. I just didn't want to hurt you I can still control my fire just fine but I've just been a lot more emotional lately," I explained looking at my palms. Cole pulled me in for a hug. "You could never hurt me I'm glad your just being the protective boyfriend I know and love. I will always love you," Cole said. My eyes filled with tears and I hugged him tight I felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders. "I love you," I sobbed. "And I you," Cole replies stroking my hair.
