Into the tunnels

Kai's POV

I got back to our room with Oscar nestled in my arms. I head to put him back, but when I shifted to put him down he started whining. "Aww you want to sleep in mummy and daddy's bed?" I cooed. I walk away from the bathroom door and set Oscar on the bed and made a pillow wall for him so he's safe. Soon I fell asleep waiting for Cole to come back.

Cole's POV

Vania showed me the palace gardens and I must say it looked like people dedicated their lives to the garden. "This is where my friend Mr. Sparkles, that's what I called him by the way, would always play with me. All the grown ups said I imagined him, but I was always-Wait do you hear that?" Vania stopped talking to listen to something. I was so invested in her talking I did not hear anything, but now that I stopped and listened I did hear something. It sounded like hurried footsteps.

"Over there," Vania whispers pointing behind some bushes. We snuck up to some bushes and I saw a humanoid thing that had greenish grey skin and black hair with leather and rocks as clothing with a bundle of fabric in its arms it also appeared to be feminine, but that is just a guess. "What's that?" I whisper. "I have no idea," Vania answers. The thing opened the gate to a small tunnel and I heard a small familiar whine.

"Shhh tiny boy. Murtessa will be your mama now," I caught a glimpse of what she had and my blood ran cold. She has Onyx! "Hey! That's my baby! And he already has a mama and and dada!" I yelled getting up from the bushes. The thing "Murtessa" looks and sneers at me before running off with Onyx. I ran into the tunnel following her before she turned a corner and when I followed it she was gone. "No no no where did she go?" I looked around seeing nobody not even foot prints to follow. I heard footsteps behind me and Vania had shown up with two torches. "Cole there's a different passage this way. Maybe she went this way," Vania said. I took a torch and went ahead anger seeping off me. How could Onyx have been taken and when? The palace is impossible to break into and Kai would have woken up he's a light sleeper compared to me and he would protect any of them with his life. This was not supposed to happen and I don't have my tracker device with me to try and find Onyx or check on his brother and sister.

"You will find him," Vania said. "You don't know that," I said harshly and quickly. "Your ninja you have always managed to win," Vania said. "But how could this happen? And why?" I asked, but Vania just shrugs. We came across a large cave and in it was what could only be described as a slave laborer camp. There were black skeletons with glowing green eyes that had whips while creatures like the one in my bed room and the one who took my son were chained and mining some sort of stone. "Those purple creatures look like Mr. Sparkles," Vania said. "And the grey ones look like the one who took my baby," I said fists clenched. There was a giant castle with a skull shaped draw bridge and lava flowing down the sides. I did not see Onyx anywhere.

Suddenly a rock animal thing reared up and crushed a cart of stones making a noise that echoed off the cave walls. All the work pauses and everyone looked at the skull castle. After a tense silent minute everyone sighs in relief before the door burst open and out flew a guy who was definitely a bad guy. He had on a white porcelain mask that covered their entire face, dark black and green robes, giant black bat skeletal wings that he used to fly, a mouth that looked like it was filled with tar, and the most creepy thing was a glowing green skull he held in his hand.

"Who dares stop the mining? Do you wish to be punished? By the skull sorcerer?" The skull sorcerer said. "Now that's a bad guy,"  I said and to my surprise the green skull started yelling. "Punish! Punish!" And the Skull sorcerer shot green blasts at all the chained creatures. "You go get the others and tell your father what's happening," I said. "What about you?" Vania asks. "I'm the master of earth and I am surrounded by earth. I'll be fine you go ahead and tell them. Go and check on my family if Kai wasn't chasing after that thing he must not know," I said and Vania nods leaving back the way we came. I jumped from my hiding spot and called out.
