Cole X Kai

Magic berries

(Okay this is a in between chapter because there is a at least two week in between time gap)

"How's little master going?" Jay asks as he helped Zane try and build a radio to contact Ninjago. Little master in question was now at least ten wearing a old suit that Lloyd had when he was still ten.

"I'm hungry I want food," A ten year old Garmadon complains. "Lloyd was better behaved," Kai said. "We need to ration our food little master," Cole said to the small impatient boy. The de-aged master of spinjitzu grumbles and crosses his arms.

"Just sit still while we try and get home to Ninjago," Zane said not looking up from the makeshift radio. Garmadon mutters some not so complimentary words for a child view no swears before sitting down at the fire. "At least we don't need to ration the water when we have a human faucet right?" Jay jokes referring to Kai. Ninja in question sent a small warning shot of fire at Jay who jumps. "That was for comparing me to a faucet," Kai said with a dignified expression. Jay shot a glare at Kai. "Calm down you two we don't need to start a fight," Cole said being the peace maker lately. Both blue and red eye roll each other and got back to work looking around for radio pieces in the wreckage of the Destiny's Bounty.

After half a hour Kai noticed little Garmadon was gone. "Hey where's little master?" Kai asks looking around. "He couldn't have gone far," Cole said. "I'll go look for him," Kai volunteers and starts heading off in the direction he thinks little Garmadon went. "Be careful not to run into anything!" Cole warns his husband. "I'll be fine," Kai calls back.

He walks around for a bit before he found the little Garmadon looking at some berries from a tree. "Little master don't eat those!" Kai calls quickly. The little Garmadon looked up at him and pouted. "But I'm hungry!" He whines. Kai went over to him. "You cannot eat random berries," Kai scolds in a totally parent fashion. Little Garmadon picked one that was purple and had yellow spots looking like a raspberry. "It's fine daddy said these were good berries," Little Garmadon said with a smile and Kai did a double take. It was clear Garmadon had somehow lost his memory. "What do you mean?" Kai asks bending down to eye level. "Daddy said he had these and sometimes they give you something called a mira-curse, but they aren't poisonous. He told me and Wu about them in a book he wrote about the first realm," Little Garmadon said. "What's a mira-curse?" Kai asks.

"I forgot, but they are good to eat. Come on eat one," Little Garmadon shoves the berry in Kai's face. Kai took the berry and looked at it sniffing it. "You don't trust me?" Little Garmadon's lower lip started trembling and it looked like he was going to start crying. "No! I do trust you see I'm eating it," Kai popped the berry in his mouth chewed and swallowed. Little Garmadon smiles feeling proud of himself. Kai got back at to his full height.

"They don't taste very good though let's go back before we find some Oni or dragons," Kai said and took the kid's hand. Little Garmadon pouts, but doesn't protest as they began walking back.

Kai's POV

Jeeze I could not deal with a crying child right now. I wasn't lying when I said the berry tasted bad it tasted terrible. I still wonder what a Mira-curse is; maybe a bad hair day? Oh I hope not.

As we were walking back I felt a sharp pain in my stomach area and grunt clutching my stomach. It felt like I had been stabbed from inside out. "Are you okay?" Little Garmadon asks me. "I-I'm fine," I managed out trying to continue back to the camp when another wave of pain hit and I collapsed on the dirt. "Something was wrong with that berry," I gasp out before I no longer have the energy to stay up right.

Cole's POV

"NINJA! SOMETHINGS WRONG WITH KAI!" We all heard the scream of little Garmadon. I dropped the planks of wood I was going to use for the fire and ran straight to the voice seeing little Garmadon shaking my husband who was curled in on his stomach one the ground. I ran straight to him and picked him up bridal style.
