The doctor opened the doors and let you all step out. You gazed around in amazement. You had successfully travelled back in time to the wild west!

Wooden structures were built all around, you could see stables and horses, wagons, a bank and the sheriff's office and jail. Right at the end of the town, you could see the fabulous looking saloon.

"Fantastic" you cried out.

"Now this is really something, doc" Graham said.

"awesome" Ryan added.

"so cool" Yaz said.

The doctor bent down and picked up a small piece of dirt and put it in her mouth.

"Do you really have to do that again?" you asked, looking at her with disgust.

"Just checking I got the right date, spot on, august 1880, western Texas" she smiled.

"Saloons this way, let's go" she began excitedly walking in its direction.

There were towns people walking all around you, going about their business. They were mainly cowboys and spoke in strong American accents.

You could hear some of them talking excitedly about some of the new railroads that had just been built. You also noticed that some of them were giving your group some strange stares, "Maybe they don't get many visitors" you thought.

You all entered the saloon; it was like walking into a scene straight out of a western movie. There was a big wooden bar in the centre, wooden tables, and chairs all around. Pictures and dead animal heads hung on the walls.

The wooden ceiling beams were exposed and there was a small stage with a piano over in one of the corners. You walked up to the bar, loads of glass bottles filled with alcohol were on shelves, behind it.

The bar man, a middle aged man, dressed in cowboy gear spun round to face you all, he had a slightly arrogant looking face.

"howdy" you said, "I'd like Five of your finest beers, please" you asked.

He just stood and laughed at you, "What is a woman doing out of the house?" he sneered at you.

"Haven't you got washing or cleaning to do, go back to your husband, I don't serve women" he snarled.

You felt instant anger rise inside you.

"excuse me? Who the fuck do you think you are?" you said angrily.

The doctor quickly stood in front of you, Yaz put a reassuring hand on your arm.

"Sorry, slight misunderstanding" the doctor said, "We're not from around here, just visiting, women have different rights where were from" she said.

You remembered that it was 1880, women were not treated fairly back then, they were just expected to stay at home, look after their husbands, birth children and clean. "Oh great!" you thought.

"well, you will respect our rules in our town, let me speak to one of the men" he said.

You felt like you were going to explode.

"And tell her" he pointed at you, "to watch her tongue, or I'll mess that pretty little face up and throw her out of here and have her arrested" he sneered.

"Right! That's it" you said, you ran at the bar, you were literally going to jump over it and punch him in the face but you felt strong arms grab yours and pull them behind your back.

Yaz had a hold of you, "Calm down (y/n)" she said.

You just struggled against her. "Stop struggling, I'm not letting you go, you'll get yourself into trouble" she said.

"He's not worth it (y/n), I shouldn't have bought you here, I completely forgot how they treated women in this time" she said. "You need to calm down" she gave you a stern look.

You sighed and relaxed a little, Yaz still did not let go of your arms.

You could tell Graham and Ryan were really annoyed at the man and how you had been treated, but you knew they couldn't say anything because this was normal in this town and at this moment in history.

"You need to control that one" the man glared at you.

You could feel Yaz's grip tighten on your arms.

"Sorry about that" Graham said, "She doesn't get out much" he added.

You glared at him, but you knew he didn't mean it.

He turned to you, Yaz and the doctor, "How about you three go find a table, me and Ryan will sort out the drinks" he said.

The doctor nodded and gestured to you and Yaz to follow her.

Yaz still had your arms pinned behind your back and was guiding you towards the doctor. She had sat down at a wooden table and was staring at you both, a look of amusement on her face.

"Er, Yaz?" you said.

"What?" she said.

"You can let go of me now" you said annoyed.

"oh, sorry! Force of habit, I was getting ready to cuff you!" she laughed.

She let go of you and you sat down next to the doctor stretching your arms out slightly.

"Your stronger than you look" you glared at her.

"good" the doctor said, "I'm glad I have someone else to help control you" she glared at you.

"You need to control your temper, I know it's hard, especially with what that idiot was saying to you, but you can't go around trying to fight people, you'll get yourself hurt" she said looking at you concerned.

Usually you would get angry at someone telling you what to do but you could understand what she was saying.

"Sorry" you said looking at them both.

"I can't help it, when someone really pisses me off, and I don't know them well, my instant reaction is to just fly at them" you said.

The doctor gave you one of her looks for swearing, "We'll have to work on that, I'm sure I can find a way to help."

"For now, though, If we see she's about to explode, either me or you grab her Yaz" she sighed.

"Maybe I should bring some handcuffs, it would be easier" Yaz laughed.

"Won't be the first time I've been in them" you smirked.

Ryan and Graham were at the table now, they each carried a tray and put a drink down in front of you all.

"Thanks" you all said.

You punched Graham lightly on the arm.

"What was that for?" he said.

"For what you said" you glared at him, it soon turned into a smile though, "I know you didn't mean it" you laughed.

"of course I didn't, had to say something to shut him up" he said.

"Have you calmed down now? You've got quite the temper there!" he added.

"I know, we're going to work on it, and slightly calmer thanks" you replied.

"You shouldn't have grabbed her Yaz, I'd have loved to have seen that!" Ryan grinned.

The doctor glared at him, "We do not encourage violence Ryan! As much as I'd like to see that smirk wiped off his face" she said.

You could tell that she and Yaz were both angry and annoyed too, but they were able to stay calm.

"They've just finished building some railroads, tracks and trains" Graham said, "Most of the men in here helped".

You suddenly had a brilliant idea, something that would probably calm you down, help you express yourself and also get back at every man in the room. "This is going to be good" you thought.
