Will you take me home?

You never normally felt nervous when somebody asked you to sing. You felt a few butterflies in your stomach at the doctor's request, but you chose to ignore them.

You thought of the perfect song to sing. You began to play the melody on the piano. The doctor sat beside you, watching you contently.

Wrapped up, so consumed by all this hurt.

If you ask me, don't know where to start.

Anger, love, confusion,

roads that go nowhere.

I know theres somewhere better,

cause you always take me there.

You began to sing, really connecting to the lyrics.

Came to you with a broken faith,

gave me more than a hand to hold.

Caught before I hit the ground,

tell me I'm safe, you've got me now.

You looked directly into the doctor's eyes as you sang the next part.

Would you take the wheel,

If I lose control?

If I'm lying here,

Will you take me home?

Could you take care of a broken soul?

Will you hold me now?

Oh, would you take me home?

Oh, would you take me home?

The doctor was listening to ever word you sang; she could not stop looking at you.

Hold the gun to my head, count, 1,2,3.

If it helps me walk away, then it's what I need.

Every minute gets easier,

the more you talk to me.

You rationalize my darkest thoughts,

Yeah, you set them free.

Came to you with a broken faith.

Gave me more than a hand to hold.

Caught before I hit the ground.

Tell me I'm safe, you've got me now.

Would you take the wheel,

If I lose control?

If I'm lying here,

Will you take me home?

Could you take care of a broken soul?

Oh, will you hold me now?

Oh, will you take me home?

Oh, will you take me home?

You had zoned out and let the music run through you, meaning every word you sang.

You say space will make it better,

and time will make it heal.

I won't be lost forever,

and soon I wouldn't feel,

Like I'm haunted, oh, falling.

Would you take the wheel,

If I lose control?

If I'm lying here,

Will you take me home?

Would you take care of a broken soul?

Oh, will you hold me now?

Oh, would you take me home?

Oh, would you take me home?

Would you take me home?

There was silence for a few moments.

"You have a beautiful voice (y/n)" the doctor said.

She was looking at you in awe. She suddenly pulled you into her arms, into a massive hug.

"I'll take care of you; I will not take you home" she whispered into your hair.

You looked up at her, staring into her mesmerising eyes.

"That's just it Doc, don't you see? You've already bought me home. Being here, right now, with you... that's home" you smiled.

The doctor looked into your eyes; you swear her eyes flicked down to rest on your lips.

"Don't be crazy" you thought to yourself, "She'd never like me, she's only happy that I'm safe" you thought.

Her face was slowly moving towards yours; she was still looking at your lips. You felt confused. You hadn't felt this way about anybody in a long time.

The last time you loved someone, you had your heart painfully broken. You had never opened your heart to anybody since then, you only used your body, as you didn't think you could trust anybody to take care of your heart.

However, you could feel yourself gently leaning forwards, towards the doctor.

"Anyone seen the cheese?" a loud voice came from the alcove opening, making you both jump slightly.

"What the fuck Ryan?" you said, giving him annoyed look.

"Language!" the doctor gave you a stern stare.

"Oh, sorry, was I interrupting something" he said with a smirk. "I only wanted to make a sandwich".

"Have you tried the fridge?" the doctor asked annoyed.

"Of course I have" he replied.

"Go and bother your granddad" the doctor said.

He turned and left.

You both looked back at each other, smiling awkwardly. The small moment between you both had been rudely interuppted.

Your stomach suddenly rumbled slightly.

"Best we go get something to eat too" the doctor said, offering you her hand.
