You felt the anxiety and panic begin to creep up inside of you.

Your chest suddenly felt tighter, like the air had been knocked out of your lungs.

You felt claustrophobic and did not like the feeling of being squashed between so many people.

You could not see a single, familiar face amongst the surrounding crowds and longed to be back at the doctor and your friend's sides.

"Watch it!" you shouted at a man in a suit, who had just knocked you flying.

You were trying to find a gap or even just a small space amongst the crowd, just so you could take in some air, as it almost felt thinner and harder to breathe in; with so many other people nearby.

In a panicked state, You managed to shove your way through, to the edge of the crowd.

You took in a few deep breaths to calm your breathing, releasing some of the pressure you felt in your chest.

You looked around you and could finally take in what was going on.

A massive group of women had congregated in the middle of the square.

They were holding up banners, reading 'votes for women' and shouting and protesting about women's rights, passionately expressing their views.

All the pushing and shoving was happening as men had begun to emerge around them, trying to stop them protesting, preventing them from expressing their views

All the pushing and shoving was happening as men had begun to emerge around them, trying to stop them protesting, preventing them from expressing their views.

You instantly recognised the women as the suffragettes and felt astonished that you were watching a part of history unfolding, right in front of your eyes.

You tried to catch a sight of the doctor and the others, but it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. They were nowhere to be found.

You watched as the group of women finally snapped.

They obviously felt they weren't being taken seriously.

Suddenly, you could see things being thrown through the crowds, hitting buildings and smashing through windows. They seemed to be throwing anything they could get hold of. You even saw (what you thought to be) a gentlemen's shoe!

"You won't listen to us!" you heard one of them shout, "perhaps you'll start listening, if we took some action, and not just spoke words!".

All of  a sudden you could hear the sound of whistles being blown and saw a group of policeman trying to make their way to the centre of the square.

"This stops now!" you could hear one of them shouting through a megaphone.

"NO!" you heard the suffragettes all cheer together.

"Then we will have no choice but to arrest you for causing a disruption and for damaging public property" he continued.

"Go ahead!" you heard a women shout, the others cheering her on in encouragement.
