"Don't take your eyes off it!" the doctor repeated.

"I'm trying my best!" you shouted.

"Don't let it get too close, one touch and you'll be gone!" the doctor said, with panic in her voice.

"There's another one over here!" Yaz shouted.

"Keep it in your view at all times, Yaz" the doctor instructed.

"Oh no, this is bad...this is very bad..." you could hear the doctor mutter.

"What are they?" you asked, keeping your eyes focused on the angel.

"Weeping angels...these ones must be scavengers, lost and hungry" the doctor answered.

"How are they moving, they're made of stone!" Yaz said.

"They are quantum locked, sufficient observation changes the thing being observed, that's why they only move when you are not looking at them" the doctor explained.

"What do they want?" you asked.

"Energy...one touch and they send you back in time, they then consume the time energy from the lives their victims would have led...These angels are weak, I doubt they'll manage to send you far. They can also feed off other types of energy, radiation or electrical energy..."

As the doctor said this, your torch lights began to flicker.

You lost sight of the angel, as yours flashed; it moved even closer to you, looking more ferocious then ever.

"DOCTOR!" you screamed, panic rushing through you.

You could hear the buzz of her sonic, trying to stabilize the light.

The flashing stopped, you looked to where the angel was, but it was no longer there...

"Where did they go?" you heard Yaz question.

You turned around to face her.

"Where's the doctor?" you said, an instant sinking feeling, rushing over you.

She was nowhere to be seen.

"DOCTOR!" you shouted, you felt your chest tighten as you shone your torch around, trying to frantically look for her.

"(y/n)" you could hear Yaz say, gently.

"What!" you shouted.

"I think she was touched...we need to get back to the Tardis" Yaz said softly.

"NO!" you shouted, "she can't be gone...I'm not leaving here, not until I know she's safe..." you replied.

"Those angels could return at any moment...we need to get back to the Tardis and wait there, Ryan and Graham will be heading back soon" Yaz said calmly.

"FUCK" you screamed in anger, throwing the only thing you could, that was in your hand.

Unfortunately, it was the torch, you threw it with such force, it shattered as it hit a tree.

Yaz placed her hands on your shoulders and looked you in the eyes.

"You need to calm down, we really needed that... I know your scared and angry, I am too. But it's the doctor, she'll be back before we know it, she said that those angels are weak, I'm sure she hasn't gone far" Yaz said calmly, trying to reassure you.

You nodded your head slowly, "Sorry" you whispered, "I just can't stand the thought of losing her..."

"I know...she'll be back before you know it, but for now, we need to get back near the Tardis, that's what she would have wanted us to do..." Yaz said softly.

You gave her a nod.

She gripped your hand and began guiding you with her torch, back through the twisted trees.

You could see the edge of the forest approaching, the light through the trees appearing to be  a  little brighter.

You were grateful to see the Tardis again and sat down, leaning your back against it side, looking out to the fields and cottages.

Yaz sat down beside you.

You were both still on edge, your eyes constantly surveying the area for the slightest glimpse of an angel.

You couldn't help the sinking feeling in your chest, you hated that the doctor was not here, by your side.

"Its going to be ok" Yaz said, giving you a warm smile.

"I hope so..." you sighed.

"There's always hope, remember?" Yaz reminded you.

"Yeah, there is" you nodded with a small smile.

You were going to try and be positive.

"So...you two finally got down to it" Yaz said with a smirk.

"Really Yaz, you're bringing that up now?" you laughed, your smile growing.

"Thought that would put a smile on your face" she grinned.

"I'm still waiting to get my hands on her" you laughed.

"By the sounds of it, you certainly enjoyed her... getting her hands on you!" Yaz laughed.

"Honestly...I don't think I've ever felt anything like that before" you grinned.

"She's literally amazing, in every way" you smiled.

"You two are so cute together...I wish I had someone like that and that I could experience even the smallest amount of love, that you two share" Yaz sighed.

"You will!" you smiled at her, "one day someone will come along and you'll just know...it will just feel right" you said.

Yaz smiled at you, "yeah, I'm happy to wait" she replied.

You suddenly heard a distant scream, it was the kind of scream that made your blood run cold.

It came from the direction of the cottages.

"Did you hear that?" Yaz asked you, her face full of concern.

"Yeah" you replied worried.

Yaz looked down at her watch, "Graham and Ryan should have been back by now..." she muttered.

"I think we should head down there, see what people know, find Graham and Ryan and maybe even the doctor" you said, sounding hopeful.

"I think we might have too, but we must stick together" Yaz said.

"Of course" you nodded.

"Me and you? Together? No-one else stands a chance" Yaz said, sounding determined.

"We will find the others" she said, helping you up. She linked her arm through yours as you began to head across the eerily empty field together.
