You felt yourself beggining to wake up, you could feel the weight of someone by your side. You slowly opened your eyes.
Everything that had happened came flooding back to you, but you were grateful that the burning rage that was inside you had finally burned out. You looked to your side.
The doctor was sitting in a chair but her upper body was lent on the bed and her head rested on your front, facing you. You liked the fact that she so close to you.
She was fast asleep, you had never really seen her sleeping properly before. She looked so peaceful, a cute small smile was tugging at the corners of her lips.
You felt a small smile begin to appear on your face from looking at her. You realised your hands and forearms were bandaged, but they didn't feel too sore.
You gently moved a strand of hair from out of her face and tucked it behind her ear. You admired her earring. A delicate gold and silver hand, holding each other's, a dainty silver chain leading up to a starry cuff, attached to the top of her ear.
You couldn't help but think how perfect it was for her. You thought how the hands holding each other represented everyone she had helped and the beautiful kindness in her heart. The stars represented her travels and adventures through them and the ones she had lost on the way.
You stroked her hair gently.
She began to stir, her face cutely scounched, as she opened her eyes.
Her eyes found yours and she beamed, gently taking your hand.
"You're awake" she smiled.
"So are you" you laughed.
"You looked so cute sleeping" you said without thinking, your cheeks blushed quickly in response.
"Thanks" she laughed.
"How are you feeling?" she asked.
"Not to bad thanks, slight headache but ok" you replied.
"That will be the sedative wearing off...I had to get Graham to give you a rather strong one, sorry!" she said.
"That's ok, I understand why..." you sighed, "I'm glad you did, it stopped my head from burning" you said, grimacing slightly at the memory.
"I'm sorry that happened to you" she said, staring kindly into your eyes.
"Has it all stopped now?" she asked.
"Yeah, I think so...I mean I don't feel angry right now, but I do still feel like the slightest little thing could piss me off" you laughed.
The doctor gave you one of her looks for your choice of words.
"That will probably last a few days...that's sort of normal for you though" she laughed.
"Oi!" you said, playfully nudging her shoulder.
"Well, you do have a short fuse" she said.
You suddenly began to remember all the rage that burned inside of you, how you didn't feel in control, how it wanted you to hurt others. To hurt the doctor. Your doctor.
"I...I didn't hurt you or the others, did I?" you asked, worry in your voice.
The doctor moved closer to you and put a comforting hand on your arm.
"No, you only hurt Ki-Hal and we all just have a few scratches and bruises, but were all fine" she answered you honestly.
"Good" You said, feeling a little better that you hadn't seriously hurt anyone important to you.
"You on the other hand" the doctor said, gently grabbing your forearms and sighing, "Managed to a good job injuring these".
"I know...I...I couldn't control it" you sighed.
"You could (y/n), you were so strong... you were physically and mentally fighting something that was filling your brain with such rage, causing yourself pain. You didn't give in...not until we were safe, back inside the Tardis, where we could make sure you'd be safe".
"I...I almost shot that Dalek" you said, looking away from her.
She gently placed a hand on your chin and moved your face towards hers, so you were looking directly into her captivating eyes.
"You didn't though, even with what was inside you...I don't think even I would have been able to have had the strength to do that" she almost whispered.
"You are the strongest, kindest and most beautiful being in the universe" you whispered. You were a little shocked with yourself, looking into her eyes made things come spilling out of your mouth, before you even registering them.
She still had a gentle hold on your chin, both of your faces were just inches apart. You could feel yourself leaning closer. Your lips were merely millimetres from each others...
The med bay door suddenly shot open, you quickly pulled apart, feeling annoyed. You so desperately wanted your lips to have softly kissed hers.
"You're awake!" Ryan grinned.
"I wish you weren't" you mumbled, under your breath.
The doctor heard you and smirked.
Yaz was stood there, smirking at you both, looking from one of your faces to the other.
"Glad to see your up" Graham smiled at you.
Graham and Ryan got comfy in some chairs around you, Yaz gave you a quick hug and whispered in your ear, "Almost...", she smirked, pulling away, sitting at the bottom of the bed.
You glared at her.
"How are you feeling?" Graham asked.
"Not to bad thanks" you smiled.
"We've just got to be a little more careful not to wind her up the next few days...the slightest little thing may make her just that little bit more angry...well slightly worse than normal" the doctor laughed.
The others chuckled.
"The same as usual then" Ryan laughed.
"Fuck off" you laughed.
Yaz snorted.
"Language!" the doctor scolded you.
"Thanks for helping me out before, Graham" you smiled at him.
"Your welcome, and I meant everything I said" he smiled at you and you returned it.
"How long have I been out?" you asked.
"Errr...almost 24hours" the doctor said.
"Shit, that were a long nap" You laughed.
"I'm not going to remind you again, young lady" the doctor said.
You stuck your tongue out her.
The others laughed and you could tell that she was trying hard not to herself.
"Please can I get up now, I really need to stretch out" you laughed.
The doctor carefully removed anything that you were hooked up to.
You carefully stepped out of bed, you could feel you were slightly unsteady on your feet.
The doctor gently held your arms as you became more steady.
"That's it, nice and steady, you've just woken from a really long nap, remember?" she laughed.
