Chapter 45

Stalker

"How have you been this week?"

"Actually, I've been busy preparing for an upcoming competition. It involves music," I answered in a matter-of-factly tone.

Hazel looked impressed and intrigued by that. She probably thought that it was a good news and it would benefit me because it's music. It's related to my therapy, saying that music would be a great mean to convey my emotions and struggles. A distraction perhaps.

"What kind of competition it is then?"

"Battle of the Bands."

"Are you comfortable with the kind of music you're playing?" she probed.

Tumango ako at ngumiti. "It's kind of rock and energetic. Tingin ko ay ayos lang ako roon."

She nodded and jotted down something on her notes.

It's Saturday and just like last week, Hazel came into our house early in the morning. She watched me do my morning routines before we could finally go on with our second session.

I realized they're both my practitioners but in different fields. Ma'am Hazel studied about music therapy program though. But somehow, they wanted me to help together.

"Do you experienced severe triggers or attacks the past few days?" aniya pagkaangat ng tingin mula sa kanyang sinulat patungo sa akin.

Despite that, a long stretch of silence dominated us as I recalled what happened yesterday.

"No," I answered positively and shook my head. "My head was triggered but surprisingly, I endured it... I didn't faint when I thought it could be fatal after that incident."

Ma'am Hazel refused to show any confusion or reaction. I think it's a skill even if they're really curious or confused. They don't want to distract their clients.

"What kind of incident? You can answer it without being particular, Mich," she interrogated.

Napatikhim ako, medyo nahiya.

"Uhm... just a mild confrontation with... s-someone from my past." I bit my lower lip as I lowered my head, fiddling with my fingers.

Even without looking, I could hear Ma'am Hazel's simpers.

"That's good, Michaela... You're doing good."

Really? That's a progress?

"Whatever helped you endure the pulsating pain in your head, keep it up and practice it. But I don't want you to force yourself, okay?" she warned gently.
