Gwen's Point Of View
"Did you enjoy, babe?" Jarred asked me while we're walking and he's holding my hand. He squeezed it and I looked up to him.
"Yes. I had fun today, babe." I answered while smiling widely. Nakita ko namang natigilan siya dahil literal na napatigil siya sa paglalakad. Napatingin ako sa palagid at marami paring tao sa lobby ng hotel.
"What is it?" I asked him, worried. He's just looking at me intently at biglang napa-ngiti.
"This is the first time you called me 'babe'." Nakangiting sagot niya pa at hinila niya pa ako palapit sa kaniya. Pinulupot niya naman ang braso niya sa baywang ko.
"It's nice to hear it from you." Halos yumakap na siya sakin kaya napatawa ako. Why is this guy being so clingy?
"Halika na, gusto ko nang matulog." Tumango naman siya at naglakad na ulit kami. Naka sandal ang ulo niya sa ulo ko nang makapasok kami sa elevator. Sigurado akong sobrang napagod siya. He's been driving since 10 am at hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa nakakapag-pahinga.
"You're tired?" I asked him, hinaplos ko ang braso niya na nakahawak parin sa baywang ko.
"My head hurts." He answered at mabilis na umayos ng tayo dahil palabas na kami ng elevator.
"May gamot akong dala, gusto mong uminom?" Umiling siya.
"I'm okay. I just need to sleep and I'll be good by tomorrow." I nodded.
"Okay, just drink warm water and sleep na agad, okay?" He nodded while smiling.
"Good night, pumasok ka na sa room mo." I smiled at him.
"Good night, babe. Thank you for today!" I winked at him. I heard him tsked.
"Stop teasing me!" He said, frustrated . I laughed.
"Sorry na, sige na kasi. Matulog na tayo." Kumaway ako sa kaniya at pumasok na kaagad sa room ko. Hindi kami matatapos kung paulit ulit lang kami magpapaalam sa isa't isa.
Two weeks had passed when Jarred and I went to Tagaytay. We had so much fun and now, we're so stressed over our school works. It's the last week before we take a one month break that's why this week is the submission of all the requirements that we need to submit.
"Saan tayo sa bakasyon?" Tanong ni Jarred habang naglalakad kami papunta sa faculty room, we're submitting our individual project in our History class.
"Mag-beach tayo. Gusto kong makakita ng maraming lalaki, nakaka-stress 'tong week na 'to." I joked. Napatigil naman si Jarred sa paglalakad kaya tumigil din ako.
"Seriously, Gwen? Makakita ng maraming lalaki talaga?" Parang naiinis na tanong niya sakin. Tumawa naman ako at hinawakan siya sa braso, agad naman siyang napatingin doon.
"Joke lang kasi. Ang seryoso mo naman." He tsked and I chuckled.
"Maganda naman katawan ko, sa akin ka nalang tumingin." Sagot niya at hinawakan ang kamay ko. He intertwined his fingers with mine. Hindi na naman tuloy mapa-kalma 'tong puso ko. Napatikhim ako at lumapit sa kaniya.
"Patingin nga." I winked at him. Napanganga naman siya kaya tawang tawa ako.
"Gaganti ako sayo sa bahay, Gwen!" He said with gritted teeth. I continued laughing at tumigil lang ng makarating na kami sa faculty room.
"Jarred." Tawag ko sa kaniya nang paalis na kami galing sa faculty room. We can now go home, we already texted our friends that we'll go home first.
"Hmm, babe?" I smiled at that.
"You can always talk to Leslie if you want to. I saw how you looked at her earlier. I won't mind if you want to talk to her." I caressed his left hand that's holding my right hand.
"Gwen, I did not look at her on purpose. Napatingin lang ako." He explained. Napatawa naman ako at tumango.
"Okay, if you say so. Pero seryoso, okay lang sakin na mag-usap kayo. You knew her before me and you like her, I perfectly understand it." He raised an eyebrow at me and smirked. He doesn't look so pleased with what I said.
"What is this that you're doing, Gwen? You don't want to push through our wedding that's why you're making a way out of it by having me talk to Leslie? Seriously?" Gigil na tanong niya, humigpit din ang hawak niya sa kamay ko. Tumigil kami nang makarating sa parking lot. I sighed.
"You know exactly that it's not what I mean." Mahinahon kong sagot, I touched his arm again to calm him down.
"Edi ano pala? 'Wag mo kong ipinapamigay, Gwen!" He sighed so loud. Natigilan naman ako at napakurap. I didn't expect that answer.
"Jarred, no. Ayoko lang na may hangups ka kay Leslie. I want you to be happy and I want you to have a clear mind."
"But, I am happy! Can't you see how happy I am?" Mabilis na sagot niya. I sighed, he's taking this topic on a different way. Maybe I'll just talk about it with him some other time.
"Okay, let's just go home. Ayokong makipag-away." He sighed as well and hugged me tight.
"I'm sorry, babe. I just... I don't know. I don't want you to think that I'm not happy with you." Muli na naman akong natigilan sa itinawag niya sakin at sa isinagot niya. He kissed my head at mariin na pumikit. I hugged him back. He still looked so pissed that's why I parted from the hug and held his hand.
"I know, we're both happy with each other. But I want you to know that you can do the things that you want to do even if I'm here already. I won't stop you from talking to Leslie, I know her place in your life and I really feel bad for the two of you." I answered smiling sadly at him. It's true, every time I see him look at Leslie, I feel like I was the reason why they can't be together anymore.
"Wala ka namang kasalanan, babe." Simpleng sagot niya. I just smiled and we both headed to his car.
"Where do you want to eat?" He asked. Nag-isip ako saglit at parang bigla kong gusto ng Japanese food.
"I want Japanese food. Ikaw?" Napatango siya.
"Japanese food, too." He smiled at me. Inirapan ko nga.
"Gaya-gaya ka. Ano ngang gusto mo?"
"Kung anong gusto mo, babe." Napairap na naman ako. Ang landi ha!
"Nilalandi mo na naman ako. Kairita ka, alam mo yon?" Bumaling naman siya sakin at tumawa.
"Grabe, bakit parang bawal kitang landiin? Tsaka ako naman yung naunang nagtanong kung saan mo gustong kumain kaya dapat yung gusto mo ang masunod." I pouted.
"Whatever." He laughed again before holding my left hand.
"Sungit, babe." And he kissed my hand.
