So, I was talking with my dad about Sanders Sides and he kept calling Janus she because Janus' name sounds feminine.
This cascaded into us talking about pronouns.
Apparently, he thinks they/them pronouns are not singular and that the singular they/them was introduced in recent years.
H tried to argue back with a thousand year old myth from Mesopotamia. Specifically when Ishtar went into the underworlds and had to be saved by a gender less being.
He said to call them 'it.'
I just-
So yeah. I will never purposely misgender someone. Gender non conforming people are a real thing and they all deserve to be treated as such.
Then he tried to say that Sanders Sides was discriminatory because all the sides use he/him pronouns. He said why not a she/her side.
BECAUSE THOMAS USES HE/HIM PRONOUNS.
so, moral of the story is:
-Respect pronouns.
- If you're gender non conforming, you're magic, Ishtar loves you, and even the queen of the underworld thinks you're hot.
-my dad better learn to use they/them pronouns correctly before he gets in trouble.
