Part 1

Thursday,12:30pm.

Y/n's POV:

"Okay Time's up! Pens down! Submit your papers and then you may leave but do not make any noise!"

I groan...ughh I couldn't attempt the last one....but atleast I'll pass. I submit my paper and start packing up my things.

"Hey girl! How was it? Mine was pretty okay"

There she was! My one and only best friend, Tess. She's smarter than me. Actually no, she's smarter than most of the people here but just the exact amount of dumb as I am.
"Eh I couldn't attempt the last problem but who cares? I'll pass for sure" I reply to her question shrugging.

We were walking down the hallway and I started craving Ice cream.
I turn around jumping which makes Tess flinch at my action.
"I want to have Icecream. Let's go!" I said excitedly.
"Let's go!! I'm getting a double scoop!" She replied with the same excitement. That's one of the reasons why I love her.

(15 minutes later)
We reached the ice cream shop 10 minutes back and Tess is taking forever to decide on the flavour.
"Should I try new flavour or get my regular one? But if I want to try a new flavour then which one?" Tess talks to herself while scratching her head looking at the display of variety of flavours in there.

"Why don't you try mint chocolate? It's available and you always wanted to try one." I suggested her.
She looks at me with a smile but soon fades away.

"But what if it tastes like toothpaste just the way your kpop idols describe it as?" I laugh.
"What's the harm in trying? Try it. Take one scoop and if you like it then go ahead but if you don't, then still have it because we're spending money on it."

"OkAy mOm!" She mocked and rolled her eyes at me.
Tess got her ice cream. She tasted it and her expression was priceless! I laughed so hard at it. She scrunched her nose and stuck out her tongue.

"It does taste like toothpaste! I regret buying it! My precious money!" Tess whined while I was laughing my ass off.
We left the icecream shop and headed towards our houses.
Tess stays 2 minutes away from my house. We basically grew up together. We used to fight a lot when we were little but now we're inseparable.

(Time skip)

"I'll come at yours for studying!" Tess winked at me. I already knew we ain't studying shit.
"Sureee See you!!" We bid each other a temporary farewell.

I enter my house and see my elder sister Ara sitting on the sofa with her best friend Scarlet munching on something.

"Hey Ara! Hii Scarlet!" I exclaim happily and sit on my sister's lap while hugging her. She hates it when someone clings onto her and I love to irritate her.
"My favourite people are here!!!" I excitedly said while swaying side to side while hugging her. Then *Thump* I was on the floor because my sister just pushed me off of her and was laughing.

I got off the floor rubbing my butt which got hurt pretty bad. Nahh I'm dramatic. It does hurt a little.
"Yah don't be dramatic. Also, invite Tess over for dinner. I have an announcement." Ara says while watching the TV.
"What announcement?" I asked confused.
"You'll get to know at the dinner table."
I whine at her statement and try to convince her to secretly tell me but she doesn't give in.
I hiss at her playfully and make my way to the kitchen. I grab the packet of chips lying on the kitchen counter and join Ara and Scarlet on the couch.

(Time skip)
I heard the door opening, so I peeked a little to get a view on who entered through the door. I saw mom struggling with the grocery bags.
"Ara!! Help me with the bags please!" Mom yelled from the door.
I nudged Ara and told her to go but saw that her head was resting on Scarlet's shoulder and both were fast asleep.
I got up and helped mom with the groceries.

(In the kitchen)
We are having a conversation while arranging the groceries in the kitchen.

"She said she'd be announcing at the dinner table. Do you know what it is?" I asked mom curiously. She shakes her head "I don't know darling. We'll get to know soon! Just a few more hours of patience."
I look at the clock and see it's just 4pm. Arghh 3 more hours! I groan and continue helping mom.

*Ding dong*
"I'll go! It must be Tess." I announce and approach the door.
"Heyyyy! Come on in!"
Tess comes inside and makes herself comfortable at home.

"Hi Tess! How was today's exam?" My mom asked Tess.
"Hii Aunty! It was pretty good."
"Good! Now study for your last exam and take Y/n with you." Mom said.
I narrowed my eyes at my mom playfully. She ruffled my hair and went to do her chores.
Ara and Scarlet are still sleeping on the sofa snuggled into each other.
Tess and I make our way towards Ara and My shared bedroom.

Thursday, 6:07pm.

I can't believe that we actually studied. Tomorrow is the last paper - Biology. It's pretty easy but the names of the bacteria,viruses and different diseases are way too long and confusing.
Who the hell thought of such weirdly long names?! Even the Scientist's names are weird and I find it irritating because it doesn't get through my head.

"Arghhh this is confusing!!" I groan throwing my book away on the bed.
"Let's take a break. We studied well so we deserve it!" Tess suggested. I smiled at her suggestion and we decided to take a nap.

After sometime, I opened my eyes and my hands started scanning the side table for my phone. I felt the cold surface of my phone and I grabbed it to see if I got any notifications.
Okay why am I even bothering checking my phone when I know all the people who text me are present in this house. Hahaha.
I check the time and realise our little nap turned into an hour and half nap. IT'S 7:30 yet no one called us for dinner. I guess dinner's gonna take time. I let my body fall on the bed again.

"Y/N!! Tess!! Dinner's ready!! Come fast!" Mom yelled from the kitchen.
Just when I thought I still had time.
We freshen up a bit and head towards the dining table. I see Ara and Scarlet already seated in their seats while discussing something seriously, Dad sitting on his seat while playing candy crush (damn that game is addicting) and ohh Veronica is here too! Veronica is Scarlet's elder sister. I didn't know she was gonna come because I thought she must be busy as she's studying medicine. Well I guess wrong of me to assume.

"Hey Veronica! Good to see you here!" I greet her while hugging her from back.
"Oh heyy baby! Ara and Scar forced me saying they wanted to announce something. My mom and dad will be arriving soon."
Ohh so they BOTH have something to announce. Now I can't wait.

After a while, everybody took their seats and sat at the dinner table. We served each other and had our dinner while our parents talked. We all are like a family. Even if we are not blood related, I can guarantee that we will always stand up for each other which is why I love them more than my actual cousins. It feels so good to see everyone happy!

Dinner was almost over when Ara and Scarlet got up from their seat. All of our heads turned towards them. Finally!! Now I can know!

"Okay Guys, we both have something to announce but you have to be calm after you hear about it okay?" Ara spoke up.

Everybody nodded theirs heads and looked up at both of them.

Ara takes a deep breath and whispers out " Here goes nothing...."
