The two figures walked up to us, but something felt off about them. They almost felt like Izzalee. Dark, dangerous, and suspicious. I could tell Ofelia felt it too as she was backing away.

When they reached us, they looked like Cornelius and Kayden, but something wasn't right. They both held ginormous swords in their hands and aimed it at us. Their eyes held no emotion and their expressions were stoic. The dark looming presence remained as proof they were not who we were looking for. These were shadow demons, and they were not nice.

Izzalee! I need you! I shouted into my mind, hoping now more than ever I'd get a reply.

What?

Release your powers into me! Shadow demons!

Ooooh! You got it!

The sensation of Izzalee's power rushing into me filled my entire being and soon enough, my body was covered and flames, wings, and horns. The shadow demons faces remained unemotional and cold. Ofelia's whimpering filled my ears, but ignored her. I needed to destroy these shadow demons. The urge to destroy invaded my senses and I let out a monstrous roar. More and more purple flames erupted from my body and flew into the air, hitting the demons in the stomach. What really pissed me off was it had no effect on them. They stood there, aiming their swords at my heart, not flinching once when my flames hit them. Lightening was striking down in the distance, but I ignored it.

Use my Vapero and your Vapero combined. No demon can escape that.

I'll try it.

Good.

I called upon both Izzalee's and my Vapero magic and threw the black liquid at the faces of the demons. Their faces remained unemotional, but they slowly began to dissolve. I kept throwing the Vapero at them, not stopping for even a split second.

After several minutes of throwing Vapero at the shadow demons, they dissolved entirely. Not even a squeak of pain erupted from them. Shadow demons were among the hardest demons to defeat, yet I just defeated them.

Ofelia's awe filled gasp reminded me we needed to get back to Kayden and Cornelius before the storm picked up. I grabbed her arm and ran through the trees. I really did not want to run into another shadow demon. My arms were exhausted from all the magic I used. The encounter with the shadow demons made me believe two of the myths about Mount Madison to be true. I now believed that Valene was responsible, but not the way most people think. I believe that she cursed the mountain by making these storms come, but also bringing demons with them, making it the worst storm possible.

No wonder no one hiked up here.....

"Titania! Look!" Ofelia shook me, making me look in the direction of magic being used. Blue magic swirled through the air towards us. This was a tracking spell, and it would lead us to Cornelius and Kayden.

At least, I hoped it would.

I slightly tightened my grip on Ofelia as we ran, twisting through endless shadows of trees and unknown creatures. I didn't understand how my touch wasn't bothering Ofelia. I was in Izzalee's form, which meant I was covered in flames. Well, then again, Ofelia is a flame faery.

Ofelia and I skidded to a stop upon seeing the best treehouse ever. Multiple trees were combined and the opening showed lanterns were being hung on the inside. I was in so much awe, I didn't even notice it when the rain began to fall down. When I finally came to my senses, I was drenched. So was Ofelia, who was shivering.

Cornelius and Kayden came running out with two umbrellas and ushered us inside the treehouse. When we got in, we shook ourselves off and stared at our friends, making sure these were our actual friends and not just more shadow demons.
