Cyla growled continuously at me, staring me down with her new golden eyes. I put my hands up in the air, silently cursing. Cyla had the soul seeing ability too, so it was no wonder she was growling, but why didn't she recognize me? Why was she looking at me like I was a threat?

"Cyla..... it's me..... Titania." I said, slowly backing away. She growled once more before shifting. Her black eyes stared at me with no emotion.

"Out! Now!" She growled, pointing towards the door. I nodded and ran out the doors, Cyla following behind me. When we stepped out the doors, Cyla slammed them shut and looked at me.

"Who are you and why are you here?" She growled, eyes flickering between gold and black. My heart clenched at the thought that she may not remember me, but I held it together.

"Titania.... your friend." I whispered, sighing. I knew she'd deny it if she didn't remember me, but I couldn't help it. Cyla laughed, an unemotional dry laugh.

"My friend?! I don't have any friends except Addy!" She shouted, eyes turning gold.

"Who's Addy?" I asked, genuinely confused.

"My wolf."

"How did you turn into a wolf?"

"My mate turned me." She growled and I almost fainted. Her mate?!

"Who is your mate?"

"Alpha Saxon." She said, swooning at just his name. I've heard rumors about Alpha Saxon of BloodStone pack. He was ruthless to those who disrespect him but really, to his family, was a kind, warm hearted soul who only wants to protect them. I didn't know how I felt with my best friend being his mate.

"Do you remember me?" I asked, backing away as the look in Cyla's eyes became more and more dark. She growled and lunged at me, but I dodged before she could touch me. Speaking of, how could she even touch me?! I was transparent!

"Would you stop attacking so we can just talk?!" I screamed at her as she prepared to pounce again. She looked at me quizzically before growling again.

"I don't know who the hell you are, but fine."

"Thank you. I'm Titania, we used to play together in the woods? You, me, our friends Ofelia and Bailey? My sisters Odette and Cassie would even join in sometimes!" I squeaked, feeling pain in my chest that my best friend doesn't remember me.

Cyla's face clouded as she took in what I was saying. I bit my lips as I watched her, really hoping she'd remember somehow. Like a lightbulb turning on, Cyla's face lit up and she looked at me, eyes wide.

"Titania? Is that really you?" She gasped, looking me up and down. I nodded eagerly.

"What happened to you? Why are you in soul form?"

"Long story short, I was attacked and nearly died. I was sent to the in between where I trained to become the faery I was destined to be."

"Well? Get back in your body!"

"I can't, I have to do something first. Why are you here though?" I asked, looking pointedly at her. She sighed.

"My mate lives here and I sensed a presence that smelled weird, so I followed it. It disappeared immediately after I arrived."

"Oh."

"Well, I'm not going to keep you here longer than necessary, so go do what you need to do, I should return to Saxon."

I nodded and watched her walk into the woods. I felt myself turning away from her and back to the castle I used to call home. Without hesitation, I walked in to get the information I needed to save the entire world from Valene.
