Madison ran in front of me, holding the sword of mirrors. She was so angsty to get to this cave, it freaked me out.

"Madison! Slow down!" I yelled after her, tripping on my blue gown. I fell on my butt with an oof. Madison looked over and ran to me, checking me for injuries.

"Why'd you fall?" She all but shouted at me.

"I don't know, maybe because I'm wearing a ball gown?!" I shouted back. Madison rolled her eyes at me and continued walking. How could she walk in that dress without tripping?! And it's her favorite dress! How can she be so willing to get it dirty?

I sighed and got up, dusting myself off. My straight blonde hair was tied up in a bun, showing off my pale face. Though, now my pale skin had dirt all over it, which kind of annoyed me. I spend hours each morning making sure my skin looked flawless, and here we are! All my hard work is thrown away by some little pile of disgraced dirt.

"Slow down, Madison! I'm not as fast wearing a dress!" I struggled to catch up to her as she ran, shouting curses.

Madison huffed and slowed down, only for me to bump into her.

"Ouch!" We both shouted at each other. Madison shook her head at me and entered the looming entrance to the cave. I sighed and followed her in, only to be blinded by darkness immediately. I struggled to see anything in front of me, but no light was coming in.

"Madison! I can't see anything!" I shouted at my best friend, who could be anywhere at this point. I heard a deep sigh that revealed her location clearly. I ran to where I heard it and growled at her.

"I can't see a damned thing, Madison! What the hell?!"

"Relax, Azalea. I'm sorry, I forgot you couldn't see in here."

Madison was a direct descendant of Sorcha, the queen of the gods and goddesses. One of Madison's abilities as her descendant was to see inside dark caves, like this one. Why it was given to Madison never made sense until now.

Madison mumbled a few words and a bright light covered the entire cave. I sagged against the wall in relief that I could see, but a snail like creature scared me half to death. It slithered right up my face and I screamed, running towards Madison.

"What the hell is that, Madison?!" I screeched, pointing towards the snail like creature. Madison sighed a deep sigh and whispered something along the lines of "I knew we wouldn't be so lucky."

"That's a trabba. They're small creatures, but large compared to snails. They reside in caves and appreciate the darkness, so they're kind of pissed we ruined their naps."

"Lovely." I drawled, but Madison just sighed painfully.

"They're gonna be here, Azalea. It's their home, and we've just invaded it."

"Still! Snails are creepy to me!"

Madison sighed yet again and walked forward. I hesitated, but then followed her. I hated snails. They were so slimy and gross, especially up close. Regular snails didn't hold a candle to these ones though. The ones in this cave were larger than any snail I've ever seen and held a much bigger amount of slime to splatter on my face.

Madison was way ahead of me now, but I was being cautious. I'd really rather not step on a snail. That would be blood on my hands and slime all over the place. I cringed at just the idea of that.

Madison reached a small opening in the cave, which I recognized to be the sword room. I ran up behind her, not wanting the door to the room to shut on me like last time. Only the presence of a descendant of Sorcha could open the room, and they had to have pure intentions. I had pure intentions, but I wasn't a descendant of Sorcha. I was a distant descendant of both Eurella and Bella, but that was it. It's a small possibility I'm distantly a descendant of Khimos and Homar, but that's all I know. Very, very distant descendants of them.
