One day. It's been one day since Cornelius took the antidote for the love potion, and he still hasn't woken up. This morning, he was brought to the infirmary because he should've woken up two hours after the potion has been digested. He didn't wake up then, and he's not waking up now.
I sat in a chair next to the plain white bed in the infirmary while waiting for Cornelius to awaken. I was just beginning to fear we did something wrong when his eyes burst open and he took deep, labored breaths.
"Holy shit!" He screamed.
"What happened?! Oh my dear boy!" Wisteria cried, hugging Cornelius tightly.
"Eurella came to me." He said.
Eurella was the goddess of the future, and it was so rare for her to come to someone, especially in dreams.
"What did she say?" Orion asked.
Cornelius looked at me sadly and then I knew. Eurella was talking about me.
"Her kindness may be her downfall." Cornelius said, looking at me.
I assumed that was what Eurella said.
"It's life or death. Will she survive her sacrifice?" Cornelius finished.
The whole room fell silent as they looked at me. I constantly fidgeted under their stares and just ran out of the room. Footsteps sounded behind me, but I didn't look back to see who it was. I had a very specific destination I wanted to go to. I kicked the doors to the outside open and ran. I ran across the bridge towards Mirella's home.
"Mirella!" I opened the door, not caring for formalities.
Mirella looked up from the book she was reading, smiling as she saw me.
"Ah, your highness. I saw you would be coming over. How may I help you?"
"You already know."
She laughed.
"That is true. Come, sit with me."
Mirella led me over to the table we sat at last time. When we were both seated and our eyes were shut, the vision began.
I was in that same field, watching my friends get killed off, one by one. I felt a strong urge to stab myself as I watched the battle rage on. Cornelius was bruised and bloody, and Kayden had a black eye and a single arrow protruded from his left shoulder. I had to end this.
"This must be ended now, Titania. You know in your heart the only way to do it." A familiar voice said.
I sighed, knowing the only way I could save everyone is by sacrificing myself.
"Vivian! Come and get me!" I shouted to my sister, who stood in the middle of the battle, smiling wickedly.
"With pleasure!" She growled back, running towards me with a sword aimed at my heart.
When she was mere feet away, she plunged the sword into my heart, but I helped her, guiding her hand to my heart so she'd stab me. When the hard metal pierced my flesh, pain like I never knew exploded through me, but I pushed it back. I grabbed the sword out of my chest and plunged it into Vivian, who fell on her knees coughing up blood. I had the same fate as blood spurted out from my wound. Looking at my surroundings one more time, I noticed the demons were gone and Cornelius and Kayden were running towards me, but they were too late. My body was already cold. So cold......
My eyes burst open at the same time Mirella's did.
"Oh my goodness! Your highness!" Mirella gasped.
"I knew it'd come down to this."
"I'm so sorry! My only suggestion is to spend all your time with those you love."
"I know and I will. Thank you Mirella." I got up and walked out the door, only to find Cornelius sitting on the steps.
"Titania, we need to talk."
"About?"
"Us."
