When I got back in, the castle was a lot less crowded and the halls were almost empty. I sighed in relief I wouldn't be going through another soul seeing faery. That would ruin my mission and I wanted to get back into my body quickly.
When I turned around the corridor, the halls were dark and hushed voices came from a room on my right. Quickly, I rushed through the walls and saw Vivian and Valor sitting in two chairs next to each other talking.
"What if she finds out how to kill me Lucifer?!"
"She won't, don't worry Valene."
"How can I not?!"
"Because I said so! The only way to defeat you is with the sword of mirrors, which is way off in the Flare Mountain Range. She won't ever get it."
I covered my mouth, not believing this was that easy.
"B-bu-"
"Valene, you're fine!" Valor/Lucifer screamed, holding Vivian/Valene to him. I cringed and walked through the walls. When I got out, I flew down the hallways and flew through the doors. I raced back to my body through a portal and jumped in, hoping it'd work. Thankfully, it did.
The bridge to the dark faery castle appeared in front of me as I jumped through my portal. The dark colors on the castle eerily shimmered, but I knew I'd be ok. I lived here, Cornelius lived here, Ofelia, Kayden, Odette, and so many more of my friends.
Taking a deep breath, I flew across the bridge and flew through the doors. The ladies of the court were chattering eagerly, but the tense atmosphere didn't go unnoticed. A conversation caught my attention and I slowly crept towards the three girls who were talking.
"Princess Titania isn't likely to live." One girl I recognized- oh shit! That girl was Violet.
"It is true, I hope she doesn't. Then I shall have Cornelius to myself." The girl who I recognized to be Valla said.
"No, he's all mine losers!" Isla said.
I sighed and crept back towards the middle of the hall. I hated those girls, they really irked me. I silently walked towards the nurses office, where my body was being treated, but disturbing thoughts roamed through my head. As I reached the room, the atmosphere seemed much more constricted and I could feel sadness and grief all around me. Flying through the doors, I saw my body.
My body was a sickly gray color and my normally curly brown hair hung down in an unmoving manner. If someone didn't take time to look at me, they would think I was dead. The only hint I was still living was the small amount of breathing my body was doing. My chest rose up and down extremely slowly and it was easy to see my body was fading. If I didn't get back in it soon, I could die for real. Deciding not to waste any time, I jumped back in, only to be pushed out again. I tried again, and I managed to weave myself back. But pain was starting to engulf me in its claws as I started to realize the extent of damage my body had endured.
"Titania?! Cerise! Come in here!" A voice I vaguely recognized to be Kayden's yelled. Footsteps could be heard approaching closer and closer to where I was and I attempted to make a whimpering sound, but only a painful labored breath could be heard. Hands started to feel my arms, my stomach, my neck, and my forehead as I kept trying to breathe. Each breath I took was painful and caused a burning pain to splinter down my entire body. My legs and arms were completely limp and I couldn't move. The pain in my shoulder blade was the worst though. I could feel a sharp needle like pain slicing through my bones, making me feel like someone was plunging a sharp dagger into me. I screamed when the hands touched my shoulders and my eyes flew open.
Cerise's concerned face came into view and small chattering could be heard from behind her.
"Princess, what's wrong?" She asked me, coaxing a reply. I could only scream as she felt my shoulders again and the blazing pain came into me again. Sighing, Cerise let go of my shoulders and I took a deep, excruciatingly painful breath.
