Highschool DxD: The Game (Early Work)

Part #36. An Awkward Situation.

(Third Person POV)

Kyu was leaning his back against one of the stone pillars of a torii gate that lead to a staircase. He was waiting for Akeno since she had told him to meet her here.

Kyu was wearing a dark teal hoodie that he had open, revealing the white t-shirt with a red maple leaf in the center of his chest. He had a pair of black jeans on and also a pair of yellow sneakers that had black stars on the side of his ankles.

Kyu noticed Akeno's presence and he looked up. She was wearing a very different outfit from what she usually wore.

She was wearing a red dress that had white short sleeves and multiple black straps on the ends of her sleeves, above and below her chest and at her shoulders. The bottom of the dress had maroon frills and she carried a black purse on her left shoulder while a heart-shaped necklace hung around her neck. Akeno hadn't tied her hair up this time. Kyu was still mildly impressed by how long Akeno had managed to grow her hair out, it had reached around the halfway point on her calves.

Akeno: "Sorry. Did I make you wait?" She asked.

Kyu: "No. I just got here a few minutes ago." He told her.

Akeno: "Well, how do I look?" She asked him.

Kyu: "You look really nice." He told her with a large grin on his face. Akeno smiled and leaned towards him.

Akeno: "Today you'll be my boyfriend for one day, Kyu." She told him.

Kyu: "Okay." He nodded. He didn't have a clue on what she meant.

Akeno: "What kind of things do you do on a date?" She asked him. Kyu simply stared at her and shrugged. At least he had found out what she meant.

Akeno: "It's...  my first time, so..." She said with red cheeks.

The two walked through the aquarium while Kyu held her hand in his. He was basically letting Akeno take him wherever she wanted, and he was perfectly happy with that.

Their next stop was a crepe shop, the first thing Kyu did once they got there was slam his hands on the counter and demand the shop owner's finest maple syrup.

Kyu: "Blasphemy!" He shouted at the sight of their syrup selection. He turned around so his back faced the shop owner and turned back around with his arms full of maple syrup that originated from Canada.

Kyu: "Take this." He told them before he dropped the pile of maple syrup bottles on the counter. He paid for his and Akeno's food and the two began walking away.

They walked through the shopping district and looked at the wide selection of items being sold. They stopped by a cafe and had a drink.

They eventually ended up walking down a large road around the shopping district. Kyu had his hands in the pockets of his hoodies. Akeno wrapped her arm around Kyu's while the two walked. Kyu noticed something odd about the large light post they were walking past. The odd thing was... Literally everyone else from the ORC were standing behind it with various disguises on. Asia wore glasses and some green casual clothes, Rias was dressed like an undercover news reporter, Koneko was wearing what looked like a tiger wrestling mask, that just confused Kyu. Gasper was wearing his paper bag and hiding behind the light post and Issei wore a pair of sunglasses and a mustache, Xenovia wore a medical mask.
