Highschool DxD: The Game (Early Work)

Level #7. A New Item.

Crowd Member: "Th-They're... They're rebels!" Someone yelled.

The crowd all scream and quickly ran away from the arena.

Kyu: "Oh, no. They know we're here." He said very insincerely.

The people left standing around the arena, were lackeys of Kaido. They drew their weapons and our protagonists did the same. Except for Kyu... who was wielding air as his weapon at the moment.

Kyu: "It has been almost constant battling since we've gotten here. I'm not mad, I'm just sayin'." He commented.

The boy raised his hands and went into a handstand before he began spinning with his legs outstretched. This was a move that he had become quite proficient with since training with Sanji, but with his Airbending, he could incorporate blades of compressed air into the attack.

With the arcs of wind being sent everywhere, several men were sent flying into buildings. The "herd" had thinned quite a bit, but the others had jumped into the fray to continue taking out enemies. Kyu slowly slid to a stop and pushed off of the ground to hop to his feet. He clapped the dust off of his hands and looked around. He hadn't taken out quite as many opponents as he'd like, but he still did okay.

Kyu sat down on the ground and watched the others fight. Every once in a while a guy would come up and try to decapitate him, but the boy would just send a blast of air at the enemy and send them flying

Eventually, the enemies were all defeated, and Luffy picked one of them up by their shirt.

Luffy: "Who is your boss?!" He yelled at the stunned enemy, who answered "Holdem." However, the enemy's words were very slurred and he may have brain damage. The enemy soon fell unconscious after.

Luffy: "Ball-de-boo?" He asked.

Kyu: "Probably not." He told the captain.

???: "Get the firefighters! A fire broke out!" A random villager yelled.

Kyu looked off to the distance and saw a stream of smoke floating skyward.

Kyu: "Huh. Anyway. You guys figure out where that guy is, I'm gonna be doing something else." He told the group.

Okiku: "What are you going to be doi--?" She began asking, but the boy suddenly jumped about thirty feet into the air and released a burst of air that shot him away from the arena.

Kyu was quickly approaching the ground. He flipped and extended his legs, releasing a powerful blast of air from his feet which slowed his descent greatly. He landed on the ground with a soft "tap" and scoured the area for a specific item.

Kyu: "Is this it? Nah." He said, tossing a broken wooden plank over his shoulder.

Kyu: "Maybe this one...? Nope!" A blast of wooden planks and debris formed on the other side of the destroyed house Kyu was looking through.

Kyu: "Aaaaaha! Wait, no." A wooden plank shot through the destroyed house and lodged itself in the door of a neighboring house.

Kyu: "Oh, finally!" He walked out of the house with a wooden plank that was fairly narrow, but was as long as Kyu was tall, if not taller.

The boy drew one of his katana out of its sheath and pressed the blade against the plank before cutting off a large piece of it.

After about five minutes, Kyu now had a cylindrical wooden pole with four slots. two on either side of the top, and two smaller ones on either side of the bottom. He had two more wooden pieces that looked as if they were frames for fans, but enlarged.

Kyu held the bottom part of his yukata up and held the blade of his katana to it before cutting off a large part of it in one smooth motion. He looked around and decided that he needed to cut off a bit more fabric. So he was now left with a yukata with most of the bottom cut off, a large piece of his yukata covered the outside of his left thigh. He also made sure to cut off the small strands on the cuffs of his shorts to give them a more tidy appearance.
He picked up the pieces of fabric and brought out his toolbox. He picked out a few screws and a screwdriver from the red box and began screwing the pieces of fabric to each wooden limb of the fan-like pieces of wood.

He inserted the large fans into the slots and put a screw through the pole and the fan limb.

After repeating that process and giving the base a little bit more detail, he now had a poor-looking replica of an Airbender's staff.

Kyu: "I mean... considering how low my intelligence is... not bad!" He said.

The staff was a rectangular piece of wood that was hollowed down the center. Two wider, diamond-shaped pieces are located at the quarters near the top and bottom, into which a pair of brass rods are inserted. These rods form the hinges for the fan-like wings which transform the staff into a glider for flight.

Kyu spread the staff's wings and saw the yellow fabric with several purple patches sewn into it. Now that Kyu looked at it closer, the purple patches had lighter purple suns on them.

Kyu: "I wonder if I could turn Yeoui into something like this..." He muttered to himself.

The boy suddenly jumped into the air and grabbed onto the front shafts of wood on the wings as well as hooking his feet on the stabilizers on the smaller wings at the bottom of the staff.

A small burst of air pushed Kyu forward and he glided through the air, back towards the arena. Where a situation was unfolding.

(Sorry for the short part, guys. But it's like... 3:00 AM for me right now, so I should probably get some sleep. I'll try to make it up to you guys with a part that's around 5k words next time! Have a good night!)
