I respond to Caleb's message.

*I'm coming

I throw on my jacket and walk into the bathroom; I turn on the water and wet a paper towel. I wipe the dried up tears off of my cheeks. I know Caleb, I do. I know he doesn't want to just have sex with me. He already assured me that he didn't. I thought that that was why he asked me out that first time, but he said he didn't want to. He already told me how he was with other girls; he's said that he never settled down with one.

I don't know if he wants to settle down with me. Does he? Even if he did, though, it would be too late for us. I think.

Would it?

I turn the light off and walk out of the bathroom, and then out of my room; I walk down the stairs. "I'm leaving!" I shout to my dad. I'm glad Ryder decided to leave ahead of his father. I really didn't want to see him again. I don't ever want to see him again.

My dad's office door comes open, and he comes out with his wallet in his hand. "Here you go." he hands me two one hundred dollar bills.

"Dad." I tilt my head to the side. "I don't need that much... it's a movie."

"Well, you never know," he says. "Just keep it."

I fold the money and stick it into my phone case. "I'll see you later." I turn around and begin to walk towards the door.

"Oh, have you heard from your mother?" he asks.

I turn back around. "Uhhh, no. Have you?"

"No. No, I haven't." he rubs his forehead.

"Should we be worried?" I ask.

"No, no. I'm sure she'll be home soon," he assures me.

"Okay. Well, I'll see you in a few." I turn back around and walk out the door closing it behind me.

I walk over to the familiar black pickup truck. Caleb gets out of the car and walks around it. He has on a white T-shirt with black jeans. He didn't have his earring in earlier. Now he does. He looked good without it, but he looks even better with it. I can't help the nervous smile that comes across my face.

When I get closer, he looks me up and down. "What?"

"Nothing, you just look nice," he says.

I let out a small giggle. He opens the car door for me, and I get in.

...

"What are they showing?" I ask Caleb as he drives the car down the street.

"Twilight," he says.

"I haven't seen that in forever!" I say excitedly.

His nose crinkles up. "You like that movie?"

"Yes, don't you?"

"Uh no." he laughs.

"Have you ever seen it before?" I ask him.

He doesn't answer right away. "Uh yeah, it was Willows's favorite movie."

I don't know what to say; I always freeze up when he talks about his sister; I have never been a very comforting person; I don't know how to comfort people really; I look down at his free hand that's resting on the seat, I grab it his hand it is warm—his fingers intertwine with mines. He looks back at me and gives me a warm smile.

He pulls into the lot; it is filled with cars. There are more cars here than it was last time. He pulls the car into an open space and then turns the car off and gets out. Caleb walks around to my side and opens the car door.
