"I'm sorry something came up."

"It's okay; I uh I found something for us to do; we can talk about it at lunch tomorrow," Jessica says.

I'm not going to school tomorrow; I can't show my face there. Not after everything that happened today. "Okay." I'll call her tomorrow and tell her I'm sick or something.

"Alright, bye." as soon as she hangs up the phone, the door comes open.

Ryder walks out and over to me, "Who was that?" he asks, looking at me intensely.

I look past him. "No one," I step to the side, trying to walk around him, and he steps in front of me.

"I didn't tell anyone, Jayda; you have to believe me." He pleads.

I look back up into his intense forest green eyes, "I do."

His eyes go wide; he's shocked at my answers, I can tell. "You do?" he asks, not believing me.

I don't even believe I just said the words. "I guess I do," I say, contradicting what I just said. I turn away from him and look towards the pool; since he refuses to get out my way.

He walks from behind me and stands in front of me, blocking my view of the blue ocean pool. "I would never do that." his brows scrunch together as his nose crinkles.

I huff loudly and shake my head. "I don't know what the hell you would do!"

"What's that supposed to mean?"

I push my hair back behind my ear, "It means that you're confusing as fuck!" I shout. I see a small smile pierce through the side of his mouth; it quickly fades. "One minute, you're telling me to stay the hell away from you, meaning you don't want anything to do with me, but yet you find ways to insert yourself into my life."

"How?" he questions cluelessly.

"God, Ryder. I told you to stop looking for Travis, and you didn't stop. You found him and went to his fucking house." Katie said Travis wasn't home when Ryder came banging on the metal warehouse door. When she opened it, Ryder knew who she was; she said he said he was looking for her to ask her about me and my connection to Travis. I don't know how he knew her, but he did.

"Well, I'm glad I fucking did; now I know why you're around him," My heart skips a beat; she also said she told him that I sold drugs for Travis; she said she didn't tell him why though. Thank God! What happened at my father's dealership is something I never want him to know. I don't want that to 'magically' get out there either.

"Okay, I sell drugs." I throw my hands in the air, I wait for him to ask me why, but he doesn't. I'm glad he doesn't, but I can't help but think maybe he knows; I don't trust Katie; she could've lied to me and told me anything. Then again, if Ryder knew what happened at the dealership, he would've thrown it in my face by now.

"Do you know what the hell would have happened if he came back?" Kaite told me that her leaving the warehouse was a rushed thing. She insisted that Ryder left before Travis returned, but Ryder being the stubborn person he is, refused. She said that he knew about the rape. Again I don't know how he could possibly know that also, but he did. She stated that he said he wouldn't leave her there with Travis. I didn't believe her because why would Ryder care? He doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself. Katie told me she didn't want his blood on her hands, so she left with him. She said that he was persistent.

"What the hell was I supposed to do?" he shouts. "Just leave her there; you didn't see her."

"Didn't see her?" I shake my head; I don't understand.

"He beats her, the bruises are gone now, but when I saw her, she had a fucking black eye and busted lip." he pauses. She failed to mention that part; she said she left one because of Ryder, and two because it was stupid for her to stay with the guy who raped her. Little did I know she meant it was foolish for her to stay with the guy who was beating her also. I look down at the ground in distress. God, I knew Travis was a horrible person, but I didn't think he was that bad. "She's fucking pregnant; I wasn't going to just leave her there," he adds.
