"You okay?" Caleb asks, startling me.
I hop up from the floor, with the paper still in my hand. "Yeah... I um.. I just dropped these papers." I bend down to gather the rest of the papers, place them into the folder, and then back onto the desk. I slip my feet into my shoes then bend down to tie them.
He asks, "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm fine." I walk past him and out of the office. Then straight out the front door over to his car that's parked across the street, he and Logan are right behind me. The car door unlocks, and I get in.
"What's wrong with her?" Logan whispers to Cale, not good enough because I heard him.
"I don't know," he responds. Caleb gets behind the wheel and then looks at me. He doesn't say anything; he just stares for a second, searching my face trying to read my emotions. He then looks away and starts the car.
The whole car ride to the theater was silent. Caleb pulls into the parking lot outside of the theater. I texted Violet like three minutes ago, telling her we were close; she said that they were already there, and they'll be waiting for us out front.
"You didn't tell me James was going to be here," Logan says. When I turn my head to look out the window, I see him, Violet, and Liam standing out front.
"You didn't ask," Caleb says back. Logan huffs and opens the car door getting out. I open the car door also. Before I can get out, though, Caleb grabs my hand.
"Wait." He says, stopping me from leaving. I turn around and look at him. "Are you sure you're okay?" he presses more.
I reply, "I'm fine, honest," even though it's a lie.
How can I tell him we are moving?
Whatever this is, it just started, and I feel good, honestly. I finally feel okay for once in my life, and now this can all be ruined because my parents want to move. Why would they even want to move?
A fresh start, maybe? I cant start over in a new place; I just can't.
"Okay," he says.
...
I'm trying to concentrate on the movie, but I just can't. All I can think about is us moving to LA and why we need a house that big.
They bought a house without even asking me how I feel. They didn't even care to think about how I would feel making a big move like that—leaving behind the people I consider my friends—leaving Caleb. I don't want to leave him.
James and Logan are sitting in the row in front of us. Logan sits on the end, Liam is beside him, Violet is beside Liam, and James is beside Violet. Caleb and I had to sit a row behind. There were no more seats on that row.
I've caught Logan, and James glance at each other several times. It must be awkward for James with Logan being here. I would've warned James, but I didn't know he was coming.
James looked nervous when he spotted Logan walking up to him. They both greeted each other awkwardly. It seemed like they were happy to see each other, but they were forcing themselves not to show it.
My phone vibrates in my pocket. I pull it out to see who's calling me. It's Ryder, shocker there. Why does he keep calling me? What part of I don't want to talk to you does he not get?
"Maybe you should just block him," Caleb whispers in my ear. I quickly hang up the phone and put it back in my pocket.
Caleb leans over and presses his lips against my cheek. I look at him and smile. A small giggle leaves my body. "What was that for?" I ask.
