"I'll find her," I assure Raven. I don't know how I will find her but I will; I could go to the warehouse and look for her there; I'll have to wait till Caleb leaves; I don't want him coming with me but I know he won't let me go alone."She wasn't just my roommate; she was one of my best friends." The blonde girl's eyes fill with tears.
I rest my hand on her arm, giving her a comforting touch. "I'll find her," I assure her once more. Caleb and I turn around and walk towards the car.
Once we both get in, he turns to me and says. "We should check the warehouse."
I knew it, of course, he would want to help, he's a selfless person. I remember when we found Katie overdosing at the warehouse. He jumped right into action; he didn't even know who this girl was, yet he did everything he could to help her. "We're not doing anything." I say with a straight face.
"What?" he looks at me furrowed.
"We can't get involved with whatever is going on with Katie; she made her choice."
He presses his lips together. "She's your friend, what if she's in trouble? Are you really going to just sit back and do nothing?" There's anger in his voice.
"Yes." I say, he shakes his head and looks away from me without saying more; he turns on the car and pulls out of the parking lot. I feel bad lying to him, but I had to. I can't have him getting involved in any of this; he doesn't deserve to be burdened with all this drama. He has nothing to do with any of this.
I'm responsible for what happened to Katie. I introduced her to Travis; if I had never done that, they would've never met, she would have never got addicted to drugs, and she would not be pregnant right now. This is all my fault, and I intend to fix it, I have to make it right. I have to make it right without Caleb.
...
"I don't understand why you would want to be here doing homework rather than go out." Caleb groans for a fifth time. He's lying back on my bed, tossing my small stuffed basketball in the air.
"I told you I didn't feel like going out," We were supposed to go to the moves, but I told him I didn't want to go anymore. I couldn't be out celebrating happily knowing everything that's going on with Katie; it wouldn't have felt right.
Caleb stops tossing the ball in the air and sits up. "I'm not mad at you," he says. I put my pen down and turn to look at him. "I understand why you don't want to help her; she got herself into this situation." She didn't get herself into this situation; I'm the reason she's in this position; it isn't her fault. "We shouldn't; you shouldn't try to figure out what happened to her, that guy Travis. He's dangerous." he pauses. "I know you already said you wouldn't, but if you have a change of heart and decided to go find her, don't," He waits for me to say I won't, but I can't say that. "Promise me you won't go searching for her."
I stare at him, hesitating before I speak. I can't do that. I can't promise him I'm not going to go looking for her because I am; I lied to him, we have been together one day, and I have already lied. I only told him I wouldn't look for her because I don't want him to be a part of a mess I created. I can't, I won't have him being a part of this.
I lie not because I want to but because I have no other option. "I promise."

My laptop is sitting on my chair, facing us; we are watching a zombie show. The walking...something, I don't remember what it's called, I've never seen it before, it's really interesting though. I'm not usually a big fan of zombie movies or shows. But I have to say this isn't too bad. I like it. Caleb said he has a love-hate relationship towards the show.
