I sat on my bed and tried calling Nuni again for the 100th time since last weekend. I didn't know where she was. Nobody knew, she had turned her phone off so nobody could get in contact with her and I was worried.
"Where are you?" I said softly as tears slid down my face.
I just needed my bestfriend right now. I needed somebody to talk to and the only person I could talk to had ran away. I knew she was hurting, I could tell. She would stay in her room for days at a time and wouldn't come out unless she needed something to eat.
Only time she left out since the breakup was to go to the Gender Reveal but there she seemed happy. I tried to be there as much as I could but she wouldn't let me in.
I called again and held the phone up to my ear.
"Please leave a message.." I heard before the beep.
"Nuni, please come home. Or text me or something to let me know your ok. I just wanna know if your ok.." I said into the phone before sniffing. I hung up and sighed.
I stood up and wiped my eyes before grabbing my bookbag and running down the steps. I opened the door and there stood Kadar. He was looking all fucked up and guilty, I mugged.
"Fuck you doing here?" I asked eyeing him.
"You heard from Nulani yet?" He asked looking at me.
"Nope." I said making sure to pop the P.
"I can't get in touch with Dee and Bre either.." He said, I shrugged and looked at him.
"I don't care." I said simply closing the door and locking it. I turned to Kadar who was standing there mugging me.
"How you getting to school?" He asked.
"Bus." I responded, he scrunched his face up.
"Fuck no. Let's go.." He said walking off the porch. I followed behind him and hopped into the passenger seat as he hopped in the driver side. He turned the car on and sped off.
"You have any idea where Nuni at?" I asked looking at him, he shook his head and licked his lips.
"Naw but Ima find her doe.." He said nodding.
"If you do, just let me know first,." I said looking at him, he nodded.
"Fasho.." He said speeding.
"Why you break up with my sister?" I asked looking at him. "And don't say none of my business. I want to know.." I explained turning towards him.
"She went out there with my sister and you fighting and shit. I didn't know she was helping ya'll fight ya battles but I feel like she should've came to me before going out there. Anything could've happened to all of ya and I wouldn't have been there to protect ya.." He explained.
