Title: The Cult Of Youth

If you're not twenty-one
You're no fun
Step away
They say

If you're not down with the kids
You're on the skids
Growing old
Today

If you don't speak the lingo
You'd rather be playing bingo
It's a sign
Of your age

If you find you've missed the night bus
You're out late making a fuss
It's a losing game
That we play

If you're too old for a 18-30 holiday
If you remember "Howard's Way"
You're in a state
A state of decay

The cult of youth is on the rise

The only demographic that counts

Otherwise it's 35 to death

Careful with your money

Afraid to take risks

The fire inside you quenched

Diminishing, more invisible by the day

Time will come to you too in the end

Your autumn and winter will follow

It's strange, it happens suddenly

And your leaves will fall

And your branches will break

There will be no second orbit of the sun

It was one set of seasons only

It will come to you too

You, and your cult of youth
