Palace - I'll Be Fine

____________________

Kana sits at the loveseat in the living room with a laptop on his lap desk. The young writer stops his typing to take a glance at the snowfall outside. The white solid snowflakes have been descending slowly, creating a white thick blanket that covers the city with its pure yet cold undertone. Kana always had mixed feelings about the snow as it always reminds him of that time. 4 years ago,  the end of his sorrowful life and the beginning of his lonely new life. The colourful lights of the remaining Christmas still accompany the snowy surface that is now reflecting oh so beautifully on his doe eyes. Kana then diverts his gaze towards the wooden musical box and the CD player on his coffee table.

Slowly, Kana can feel the dark memories on that snowy day are covered by the recent memories that he and Sam had created not too long ago in Paris. Those memories are so endearing and surreal that the dandelion can't help but feel sudden breathless due to the overwhelming emotion building inside of him.

Kana felt so... special in those precious times and all the sweet memories seem to help to convince him to stay. Sam's love record that he heard that day is like a final reason for Kana to hold on, certain that he's unable to stop and leave anymore. The dandelion is already in too deep with his feelings.

And that night, Sam's confession. That faint confession.

'I love you'

Kana admit that he was sensing his breath getting shorter when hearing those words. But the moment he saw Sam's eyes, it was as if he forgot how to breathe altogether.

The reflection of the fireworks on those eyes, the longing that those pair reflects. The sadness that mirrors on the beautiful onyx orbs, fades Kana's anxiety away. It made him forget all the painful memories behind those words. Replacing it with the urge to vomit all of the true emotions behind those words, the emotions that fill him because of Sam's abundant affection.

The younger's brown orbs then gaze down towards the ring on his right hand. The glistening metal wraps beautifully around his middle finger nicely with the beautiful engravement peeking on top of it. Kana slowly lift his hand and kiss the ring, then gently pulls back as he admires it with an endearing smile.

I should try saying it to him.

Then Kana's daze is suddenly disturbed by a knock on his front door. It startles him a little bit as he glances at the small clock on the TV stand, 4.15 pm. Kana begins to frown because he doesn't expect any visitors at this time.

Maybe it's Sam who decides to show up earlier? But it can't be, the latter's in the middle of shooting right now and told Kana that he'll stop by this evening after it's done. Curious, Kana decides to go open the front door, while leaving the door chain locked for safety. Once he did open it slightly ajar, the dandelion froze the moment he sees who's the person that had had knocked at the other side of the door.
