Jasmine sat down in Dr. Clay's private office with Aaliyah in her stroller.
"Oh my lord, she is such a cutieeee Jas!" Dr. Clay smiled at the baby
"Thank you." She smiled as she watched her doctor sit in front of her
"So, what's going on? Is it your stitches? How are they feeling?" Dr. Clay asked
"No, no I'm healing up just fine. It's actually...I'm pregnant." Jasmine said hesitantly
Dr. Joan Clayton stared at Jasmine in shock.
"It's um...-
"Jasmine...what did I tell you?" She sighed, running her fingers through her curls
"You said that I would be more fertile after the delivery." Jas mumbled
"That you needed some form of birth control." Dr. Clay added
"This is so...dangerous. You're supposed to give yourself at least a year after a C-section to get pregnant again. There is definitely room for complications." She went on
"Aubrey wanted me to call him...just hold on." Jasmine called Aubrey
"Hey, mama. You at the doctor?" He answered quickly
"Uh yeah. Im with Dr. Clay." She said
"Hi, Aubrey." She said as she took notes
"Hey, Dr. Clay!" He said
"I was just telling your wife how dangerous this pregnancy will be. We agreed not to get pregnant until a year postpartum. Did we not?" She scolded
"Yes ma'am. We just really didn't think it could happen. Is everything...Is she going to be okay?" Aubrey asked
"I really can't say. We just stitched her up five months ago, with a new baby growing it could disrupt her healing process. To put it plainly, this fetus could rip you open from the inside." She said
Jasmine's eyes widened in horror.
"I will check on your stitches today and see how they're doing and it's completely up to you to continue this pregnancy or not. But, Aaliyah needs her mommy more than she needs another sibling." Dr. Clay explained
"Yeah...I agree." Aubrey said
"If you do want to continue with the pregnancy, I will need to see you once a week." She went on
"Aubrey's on tour.-
"Mama, fuck the tour." He said sternly
"It doesn't have to be me. If you can get a doctor to travel with you, that would be fine. You just need regular checkups." She said
