This week was chaos

This week was chaos. Aubrey's seventh studio album Her Loss was set to drop in just a few days, and the whole city seemed to orbit around him. It was also the final album under his deal with UMG. After this, he could renegotiate or go independent. Everyone wanted a piece of him.

They were in LA for promo, the whole family minus Adonis, who was staying with Sophie for the week. Jasmine was there with Aaliyah and baby Amara, though Aaliyah spent most of her time back at the hotel with Deena. Bruce handled security, making sure Jasmine and the babies stayed shielded from the madness that followed Aubrey everywhere.

Aubrey and 21 were running on fumes. Magazine interviews, photo shoots, club appearances, pop-up shows it never stopped. Jasmine tagged along where she could, keeping to the sidelines but soaking it all in. 21's girlfriend Latto was there too, and the two women hit it off instantly. Jasmine loved her energy.loud, confident, funny. She was about ten years older than Latto, but it didn't feel like it. They sat together at dinners, laughed through after-parties, and bonded over music and motherhood.

Now, Jasmine sat in a director's chair off-camera, scrolling through her phone while Aubrey and 21 faced yet another interviewer. She had Amara's stroller next to her, the baby half-asleep under a soft blanket.

"So this album's a complete switch from the last one," the interviewer said. "Your last project was a love letter soft, personal. This one's darker. A lot more party records. What changed?"

Aubrey chuckled, leaning back in his seat. "Nothing really changed," he said. "Last time, I just wanted to honor where I was at in life. I got a wife, kids, real peace for the first time in a long time. But I know everybody ain't in that space. Her Loss is for the people who still living that wild life. It's not all serious."

He glanced over his shoulder for a split second just long enough to find Jasmine. She gave him a tiny smile, her chin resting in her hand. He grinned back before turning to the interviewer again.

"21 and I just wanted to make something fun," Aubrey continued. "Something you could play in the club, in the car, wherever. It don't gotta be deep every time."

"Exactly," 21 said. "We was just having fun with it."

The interview wrapped not long after. Cameras cut, lights dimmed, and Aubrey immediately walked toward Jasmine.

"You bored yet?" he asked, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Not even a little," she said, smiling. "You two actually sound like you slept last night."

He laughed. "Barely. But I'll take the compliment."

She looked up at him, eyes warm. "It's crazy seeing it all like this," she said. "You've done promo runs before, but this one feels different."

"Yeah," he said, sitting down next to her. "It's the last one in the deal. Kinda surreal."

"You think you'll stay with them?"
