I’ve been attempting to sketch out ideas on how I want my wedding dress to look like, but everything I’ve been drawing hasn’t turned out just the way I wanted it to.
Tearing out and crumbling up my 20th attempt, I bring my hands to my face and begin rubbing my temples. I needed to figure something out soon, as we are running out of time before the big day is here.
After a few minutes of thinking, I bring my hands down and noticed everything was white. As I try looking around, I suddenly see my parents sitting in front of me, startling me. I continued to stare at them, and they both give me a small smile.
“Mother, father....” Was this real? Or am I dreaming again?? “Hey, sweetheart. How are you doing?” Father asks. My eyes start welling up as I look back at him.
“Father... I’m getting married! While I’m so excited about it... It breaks my heart that I don’t get to have you walk me down that aisle!” I say as I struggle to fight back the tears.
“I know, dear. I’m so sorry, you know I would have loved to! When you were growing up, I’ve always told your mother how excited I was to be able to give you away...”
“But everything is different now. Back then we all thought I’d be marrying someone else. If you were both still here... Would you still be happy walking me down? Even though I’m marrying Undertaker?” I asked nervously.
“Amora, of course I would. I love the both of you... While your mother and I were both upset at first, we know he will treat you right.” Father answers.
“And we’re glad he’ll be marrying you. You know, your father and I got married when I was your age. I was pregnant with you too. Amora, it is hard raising a family when you’re so young, but it’s also a blessing. We didn’t realize how much love there was to give until we had you.” She smiles.
“I know, mom. But the only difference is... I’m not pregnant.” I answered, a little uncomfortable. “That you’re aware of...” My father then says.
“What do you mean by that?” I was now confused. “Amora, sweetie. You know it comes after-”
“Alright mom, I get it! But it hasn’t been that long... And how would you even know if I am?!” I was now blushing like mad.
“You should know one of the reasons. I’m just saying, don’t be surprised in a few weeks from now-”
“Mom!!” I yell out, feeling extremely uncomfortable. “She’s right, dear. I know you’re feeling uncomfortable right now, I can assure you we, or at least I am feeling the same way.” He says as he starts to turn a little red as well. He looks away for a few seconds before turning back to me.
“But we want to let you know, we will always support you, even if we can’t be there physically. You will make great parents.... And another thing, your brother is excited for you, even though he doesn’t seem to show it much. He wants to help you guys out, so please let him. He is right after all. Even though the plans have changed, you still deserve to have the wedding you’ve always dreamed of. Let him help you guys out, okay?”
“But I feel too bad about it! He’s already spent so much on tailored dresses for me-”
“We know, but he still loves you. If he wants to help, let him. You two need to be there for each other. You only get one wedding, as you’re marrying the one who is meant for you. Make it the way you want it to be! Don’t settle for anything less, it’s your day, Undertaker’s as well. Make it special, just know we will be there in spirit.”
“Thanks, dad.” I look down as I continue to fight back tears. “Come here, sweetheart.” My mom says, and I look up at them. She was holding her arms out, and I stand up and slowly go to hug her. I started crying immediately as I felt their embrace. Father joins in on the hug and wraps his arms around the both of us.
“I miss you guys so much!” I cry out. “We miss you too, Amora.”
“Don’t cry though, this is the time to be happy. You’re getting married, and you’ll soon have your own family to grow.” Father then says. I feel them both kissing the top of my head before they let go.
“Smile, sweetheart. Have the wedding of your dreams.” Says mother. “Alright, I love you guys so much!”
“We love you too.” We say our final goodbyes, and I immediately wake up. I look around and seen we were still riding to Temple Island.
“My love, are you alright?” I hear Undertaker ask, and I quickly look up at him as I was using his legs as a pillow. “Y-yeah, I’m fine.” I answer as I sit up. I then look out the window as I slowly bring a hand to my lower stomach. “We are almost there, we should arrive in a couple of minutes.”
“Amora, are you feeling alright?” I then hear Ciel ask. “Yeah, why do you ask?” I questioned as I look over at him. “You’re sweating, and you look like you’re going to be sick?” He answers worriedly. Just then we came to a stop, and I look back out the window. There it was, the little island within River Thames.
Sebastian opens the door, and he helps Ciel out from the carriage. Undertaker goes next before helping me out as well. Closing the door, we take a look around.
“We will definitely need a boat to get across, but that shouldn’t be a problem.” Sebastian speaks out. As he and Ciel walks around, Undertaker pulls me to the side.
“Baby, are you sure you’re alright?” He asks concerned. “I-I’m fine-”
“Amora, please don’t lie to me. What’s wrong?” He moves his hair to the side, so I can look at his eyes. I take a look around before answering. Taking in a deep breath, I look into his eyes once more.
“I know it’s way soon, and this is going to sound crazy but... How do you feel about... Having any kids?” I asked nervously. I then notice the look in his eyes soften.
“Love... This will be... Difficult to explain. I love you, and while a part of me would love to have one... I also don’t want to go through losing them. I may not be human, and you’re not either, we wouldn’t know if they would be or not. Another thing is...” He struggles to explain as he looks away for a moment. He then looks back down at me, and I was holding back tears, and I seen pain in his eyes.
“Is what?!” I practically demanded. “You... Don’t get your cycles. Without that, it would be basically impossible to conceive.” My eyes then widen. “How would you-”
“I did take care of you for 4 years, love. The whole time I was teaching you how to do everything again, you never once had one. Have you had any while you’ve been on your own?” He asks softly.
“N-no.” A few tears end up escaping as I answered, and he wipes them away. “I’m sorry, love. But having a baby is not in our future. Even if we were able to, we wouldn’t be ready yet, at least I’m not. I think it may have something to do with you being undead.” He whispers the last word quietly.
“Aren’t you two going to take a look around?” We hear Ciel ask, and I look the opposite direction as I dry off my face. “Yes, we were just going to right now.” Undertaker answers as he takes my hand. We look around for a while before making our decision.
“Well, what do you think, my dear?” Undertaker asks as he turns to me. “I like it. It’ll be perfect.” Honestly, my heart was in pieces as I couldn’t stop thinking about our conversation from earlier, but I didn’t want him to worry. Trying my best to hide the pain, I look up at him and smile.
“You want to get married here?” He smiles as he leans down to me. “Yes, of course.” Giving me a kiss, we decided to head back to London.
