When I woke up, I had found that Undertaker wasn’t in the bed with me. I hated that the first thing that came to mind was that something either happened, or more reapers came by and took him in for questioning.

Surely Grell couldn’t have been that gullible. I mean, she saw right through Undertaker’s lies, whatever that may have been, and he’s a much better liar than I am!

I try to move my body, but it was proving to be even more difficult than last night. “Come on, Amora. You’re a Phantomhive! This would be considered child’s play!” I say to myself, and I push myself with everything I can to get out of bed.

Noticing one of his shirts near the bed, I reach out to pick it up and put it on. I button it up and stand myself up and try walking over to the door.

Walking was not easy right now, as my body is still pretty beat up from being slammed onto the floor, and I most certainly couldn’t move my neck without it feeling like the stitching was being pulled out.

Finally, making it out to the living room I had noticed he was asleep on the couch. He was still sitting up, so he must have fallen asleep at some point. Forcing myself to keep walking, I make it over to him, almost falling over in the process.

Climbing over his legs, I lean down and place a soft kiss to his cheek, and he slowly opens his eyes. “Amora...” He then realized he was still on the couch, and I had made my way over here. “Hey baby, I’m so sorry.” He almost whispers as he wraps his arms around me, and sits himself up just a little more.

“What are you apologizing for? There’s nothing to be sorry about.” I say lovingly. “Yes, because I fell asleep out here when I should have helped you! How long did it take for you to walk out here?” He asks worriedly.

“Darling, it’s okay. I’m okay.” I lean in to give him a kiss. “I’m supposed to be taking care of you, my love. You’re injured-”

“I’m a Phantomhive. I need to push through this. You’ve known my family for how long now, and I’m probably the weakest one you’ve ever known, aren’t I?” I ask quietly as I look away.

He then brings his fingers to my chin as he has me look back into his eyes. “Amora, hey. Don’t ever put yourself down! You are far from weak, my love. You are strong. You are brave, you are resilient, and extraordinary. I couldn’t be any more proud of you for everything you have ever gone through and fought through it all.... Take last night for example.”

He moves his hand to cup my cheek as he leans in closer to my face. “You were so unbelievably strong for staying awake for me, baby. For an extreme injury such as that, not many people, if not any, can do what you did. Then to sit yourself up in bed shortly afterwards like that... Love, you’re incredible!” He begins to wipe away a few tears that had managed to escape as he smiles.

“My wanting to take care of you in any sort of way is not because I ever thought you were weak, but because you can’t take on the world or your problems yourself. Everyone will always need help. And I want to help you because I love you. It’s what I’m supposed to do as your partner who is committed to you. I want to make everything easier on you in every way possible, baby.”

“You really mean that?” I asked, in complete awe. “Of course I do, I would never lie to you. You are my world and I only ever want to see you happy.” He then pulls me in a loving kiss.

“In all honesty, love. How long did it take for you to walk out here?” He again had worry in his voice. “Long enough. When I woke up and didn’t see you there, I thought maybe something had happened, or the reapers came back for you.”
