Chapter 24

I am listening to music through my ear pad while looking outside the airplane's window. Clouds looks thick, the outside looks majestic, para akong nasa langit. Piniling ko ang ulo ko sa headrest at pumikit.

I am so exhausted, marami ang pasahero namin ngayon, ang layo pa ng byahe at tuloy-tuloy, ni walang pahinga man lang saglit kahit sa hotel. I wanted to sleep but I know I can't ilang sandali nalang ay maglaland na kami sa Airport ng Manila.

"Lalaine, gising.." pukaw sa akin ni Kezia.

I opened my eyes and look at her. Her curly hair is neatly comb, her make up is light but she looks so beautiful, I envy her brows, ang perfect kasi kahit na hindi niya dinrawingan. I am not fond of make ups pero kailangan dahil di naman ako kagandahan, kaya napilitan akong mag-lipstick at maglagay ng kilay, though it was always Kezia who does my make up.

"Gising ako." I yawn and stretch my arm. "Can't wait to land, didiretso ako sa condo ko at matutulog buong magdamag!" I exclaimed.

Natawa nalang si Kezia at umupo na sa tabi ko. She's been my friend even back then in Saguing, nagkahiwalay lang ang landas namin nun dahil sa pag-aaral, but too much with coincidence we have the same job and the same workplace. We became besties.

And everytime I remember Sassy, I can't help but miss her and wonder how she is now. The last time I saw her was in my Father's Burial, we didn't talk much that time, lutang pa kasi ako nun dahil sa pagkawala ni Papa.

My heart clenches when I remember how ruthless my father died. Until now, there is no suspect, and I am starting to doubt the police who promised me that He'll find the killer, it seems like they are just bluffing, that someone paid all the police officers and investigators. And makes me to hate those people more, mas hindi ko sila mapapatawad.

"Have you seen the new Pilot?"

My brows furrowed. "Bago pala? I didn't notice that."

"Panu, nakaheadset ka halos buong byahe, pag ikaw nareport talagang lagot ka kay Jeremiah.." sermon sa akin ni Kezia.

Umirap ako. "Kahit naman wala akong gawin, lagi akong lagot sa Jeremiah na iyon! Ang init ng ulo sa akin! Laging may problema pag ako kaharap! Nakakabwesit siya!"

Tumawa si Kezia at hinampas pa ako. "Baka kayo magkatuluyan niyan? Paano nalang si Doydoy?"

"Doydoy is a good friend, Kezia. At, Ew! Iyong Jeremiah na iyon? Yuck, no thanks." Nandidiri kong sabi.

Is she insane? Ipapares pa ako sa boss naming shark? Na kulang nalang lamunin ako sa tuwing nagkikita kami. I don't know but we really fought each other everytime we'll cross our ways, walang titigil hanggat may masasabi pa. He's our boss but I don't care, siya kasi lagi ang nauunang uminsulto sa akin kaya depensa lang ang ginagawa ko kumbaga. He's really Hot-headed man but it's only me and Kezia who can talk back to him, kami lang din ang tumatawag sa pangalan niya lang, I don't know when do we start treating like how we used to each other, basta namalayan ko nalang na nagsasagutan kami. But I don't like him! He's not my type and I'm probably not his.

"Si Rilley Velazquez, he's a flirt." Pagbabanta niya.

I shrug. "Ano naman kung flirt? It's not like I like him or something, ni di ko pa nga yan nakikita, eh!"

"Just warning you. I saw him dating Trisha, remember the newest hired Flight Attendant? The youngest."

Tumango ako. "So he like young ladies, huh? Bata pa naman ako." I joked and even pouted.

Napailing nalang si Kezia at uminom na ng tubig. I took off my ear pads from my ears and put it inside my pocket. I readied myself as the Pilot announces our landing.
