As you all know, I participated in NaNo this year. I really only joined because of some encouragement from friends (lol hi thehockeybee fizzy_apples and TheJadeWarrior) but I was also really curious how I would do with the pressure of NaNo on top of junior year.
I'm here to announce:
I WON!!
I hit 50k on the 28th, and got a total of 55,072 words on my current project!! (Which KatUpAMapleTree might remember from a few years back... 😏 it's changed a lot since then, and hopefully for the better!)
I'm beyond astonished and proud of myself. I still can't believe it's real, if I'm being completely honest. I mean, this is me, the girl who couldn't get past chapter three a year ago.
CJ, Ivy, and Bee— you guys were great motivation to finishing! All those sprints and late nights spent writing were so helpful. And I'm so proud of you guys for hitting your goals as well!!
So I'm slowly returning back to Heroes of Today, and while I'm planning on finishing (!!) that by the end of the year, it's highly likely that I won't be uploading any of the chapters until 2021.
As for the NaNo project, my goal is to finish drafting it by the end of February. Despite all the words I typed this past month, I'm still a good 20-25k short of finishing, which is absolutely insane. How am I going to end up with not one, but two 80k-word novels in a year?
A young Katelynn would be so proud that I not only made it past chapter three on my wip without abandoning it and later deleting it entirely (a constant cycle Kat probably remembers lol) but that I'm only about 6k away from finishing HoT, which has been a baby of mine for over three years now.
So I'm celebrating a lot as we go into December!! This past month has been huge for me, and I'm excited to see what comes of the project I spent countless hours working on.
Have a fantastic day, I love you all, and bye!!
-Katelynn
