Epilogue

I once again pushed my hair back while I'm on my way to the conference room. I played with my tongue inside my mouth.

It's time of the year, I'm seriously not sure what is my uncle doing everytime he's asking us to handle his company while he's away. Sometimes it'll took him 3 to 5 months away. I'm honestly starting to have this idea of him doing some nasty works out of his company.

This is also the first time that I'll be handling his company. Kadalasan ay si kuya ang napupunta sa sitwasyong ito pero dahil nasa ibang banaa si kuya ngayon ay wala akong choice.

"Everyone, I want you to meet my nephew, Jameson Kit Legaspi." I straightened my back when uncle finally introduced me. Sinikap kong magmukhang maawtoridad. I actually don't have to act like one but I still want to dahil pansin kong 'yung ibang tauhan ni uncle ay matatanda na at mukhang bihasa. It's not that I can't handle them or I'm being intimidated by them, but I still want to look presentable in front of them.

Ayoko mang isipan sila ng masama ngunit ayokong minamaliit nila ako sa sarili nilang pag-iisip.

Though I'm well trained in this field, my composure starts to shook when my eyes suddenly landed on her. She's just staring at the floor. Hindi niya ako tinapunan kahit saglitang tingin.

All this time... nandito ka lang pala... I clenched my teeth.

Nararamdaman ko ang kagustuhang gumalaw ng mga paa ko papalapit sakanya ngunit pinipigilan ko ang sarili. Bahagyang nanliit ang mga mata ko nang makita ang pag-alo sakanya ng kanyang katabi.

Who is that? Her boyfriend? Husband? Ganoon kabilis?

I cleared my throat as I try to erase my thoughts. Hindi ko ni minsan naisip ang bagay na kahit pa mag-asawa sila maghihiwalay rin sila kung gugustuhin ko.

"So, Kit, I want you to meet the head of the Marketing department, Mr. Primo Villegas."

So Primo Villegas is the name? I see...

"It's only for a month, uncle!" I narrowed my eyes on him when he chuckled.

"Why? You're afraid that you might be sway by your ex-girlfriend?" He teased me.

Umismid ako at umiwas ng tingin. Fuck! It's easy to say that I won't but why couldn't I speak it out?

I heard his soft laugh, napansin ata ang pananahimik ko. "Alright, alright..."

From the very start, my plan was all settled and clear. Me working as uncle's substitute and me not minding her presence. But by just simply staring at her from a far could already make my world upside down.

Just like right now. I was exhausted with the problem in my company plus here so I decided to have a breath of fresh air on the rooftop when I saw her leaning on the railings while watching the sunset. She's wearing her usual coat and pencil skirt paired with black shoes.

I could see the side view of her face from where I'm standing at. She untied her hair and let it flow with the wind.

My grip on my phone tightened. I badly want to walk towards her but I'm too afraid.

I know she's still healing and enjoying her solitude. I badly want her back but I don't have the heart to do messed her life once again. Not now. And I also hope never again. So I did my very best to ignore her presence. But when I saw her being with that Villegas, having the time of her life, laughing like she never did before, caring for him, and treating him like that, I once again lost it all.
