The next day of school was better then I expected.
I had somehow miraculously woke up before my alarm and made Luke and I breakfast, which Luke suggested days before that I try cooking and I wasn't half bad at it, but that still didn't stop me from burning the toast.
"Cayden, you suck at this." Luke laughed at the completely charred pieces of now bricks. Thank goodness, Silvia and Lea's flight was canceled because of someone snow storm. Lea texted me, I have no idea how she had my number, that they wouldn't return for another few days.
"Hey! I didn't hear the stupid timer go off!" I justified while crossing my arms with one hand holding a spatula. I was trying my best to be intimidating but seeing that I only reached Luke's chest was doing any justice and the fact I had an apron with a pink rabbit on.
"That's because you aren't supposed to be listening to music with ear phones on." He pointed at the wires.
"Fine, fine. I guess you win. Bu-"
"I always do." He pointed out before I could finish.
I turned back to the pan and stuffed a spoon full of scrambled eggs in his mouth. He chewed, a surprise expression spread on his face.
"Is it edible?" I asked, slightly nervous since minutes before I had watched a YouTube editorial on how to cook eggs.
"A little too much pepper but other then that it's delicious. The spinach and cheese was a nice touch." He praised and I fist pumped in victory.
"It won't be long before I will be making us five course meals." I gleamed to him. He grinned, one where is mouth was closed but his smile was adorable and his eyes were shining, "I'll hold you to that."
He grabbed my waist, his touch waking my body, right now I was sure he knew what he was doing to my hormones. His lips trailed against my the skin on my neck, as he nipped claiming his territory. A moan escaped from my mouth as he backed me to the kitchen counter.
His hands effortlessly lifted me up on to the granite. His forehead pressed against mine while he huskily whispered, "Cayden?"
"Yeah Luke?" I dreamily asked.
Suddenly two fingers snapped in my face repeatedly.
"Cayden?" Luke raised his eyebrow at me, "You zoned out for a good minute after I told your cooking was decent."
I shook my head, worried thoughts rushing through me, "Di-did you um did you read my mind?"
"No." He answered allowing to let out a breath I was holding in. He cocked his head to the side, "I'm trying out this new thing were I let you have space."
Relief capsulated me at his words but the glint in his eyes and his small smirk told me different.
Fuck, Luke knew.
...
To say I was embarrassed about my little daydream was an understatement.
All morning, I had been completely avoiding Luke at all costs. And if talking was necessary I would only mumble a few words here and there to him.
"Cayden? Sweetheart, why are you ignoring me?" Luke pulled us aside while we were walking toward second period.
"I'm not." I said, averting my eye contact to a poster about winter formal which wasn't until January.
"Yes you are." Luke grabbed my chin, forcing to look him straight in the eye, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." I mumbled, feeling the blush creep on my face.
