"How did you think the test was?" Luke asked while we headed toward second period.

I struggled to bring the other strap of my backpack toward my shoulder but Luke kindly helped, "It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm guessing you thought it was pretty easy considering you finished it in twenty minutes."

"Actually ten, I was using the other ten minutes to make sure you weren't freaking out." He held the door open for me.

"Well surprisingly I didn't, I guess I have you to tha-"

"Luke! Over here!" The girl who I bumped into the first day of Luke's arrival waved her hand at him.

Although it was obvious Luke had no desire to chat her, his polite side guided him toward her. "I'm sorry." He mumbled to me.

"It's fine, no worries." As I departed toward Rylan, who was scrolling through his phone.

The sight of Rylan made my stomach turn. He was in his usual navy collared shirt and jeans, his hair perfectly gelled. I could have thrown up the contents of my granola bar, that Luke forced me to consume, right then and there.

Undoubtedly, I was ultimately nervous because of what happened yesterday with Rylan. Who could blame me? I left him without one of the most pitifcul excuses right when we were about to kiss.

When I sat down, Rylan looked up from his phone and smiled at me. I wasn't expecting that, I was expecting him to be upset or completely ignore my existence.

:"Hey Cayden."

"Hey Rylan." I weakly acknowledged, afraid that he was going to burst on me.

"Guess what? I emailed Mr. Stewart the re write early and he was so pleased with it, he gave me an A." Rylan beamed, "Now coach won't have to bench me for the first game of the season."

"That's great, I'm really happy for you." I prompted my elbow on the table.

Rylan nervously played with his phone, "I been meaning to ask this, Cayden do you want to go on a date tonight? I think it is a must since I owe you for helping me and since we never got to finish what happened yesterday."

"A date?" A grin formed on my lips while repeating the word. This was unbelievable, a dream come true and the only way someone were to wake me up was if they were to pinch me.

Of course, that person happened to be Luke.

"Hey guys." Luke fictitiously greeted while he plopped his chair in front of our desk.

"Leo."

"It's Luke." Luke corrected Rylan, seemingly half irked at his mistake.

"Yes Luke?" I questioned, quite unamused at his demeanor.

The blonde girl, who stole Luke earlier, also invited herself into our conversation.

"So I heard you two are going on a date. I think it would be best of me and Stacy here-"

"It's Melody." The girl pouted at Luke who simply didn't show any concern.

"Yeah Melody. Anyway, I was thinking we could join you two, make this a double date." He suggested, almost as if he was challenging Rylan.

I never wanted to slap more than in that moment.

Rylan looked at me for assurance and I nodded, internally dreading the time to come, "We love for you to join us."
