Stress was building inside me, rapidly encasing my body and my mind.

Panic was rising: my knee wouldn't stop shaking. I wanted to cry, I wanted to run, be anywhere but here. But these detestable cemented walls chained me prisoner with their mocking white board and teacher's desk. I hated, utterly hated mid term week.

Luke's hand gently squeezed my thigh, "Stop shaking sweeheart, you will do great. You studied really hard for this."

Our heads shot up from our small pep talk once Mr. Garrick started talking, "Okay class, today is the last day of finals as you know before winter break. Now, I know you guys know the drill but let me make it clear one more time, absolutely no cheating is allowed. No notes, no phones, anything that even look like you are cheating, you will recieve a zero on the final. You can began once you get the test. Good luck everyone. "

Since my desk was closest to his, I recieved the test first, my brain on haywire. I was flipping through the pages of the tes, skimming the problems. I knew the problems and how to do them, but I was psyching myself out.

I can't do this, an inner voice fired at me repeating the words, I can't do this.

No I can, I fought back, I can.

With one last exhale of a breath, I turned back toward the first page and began. Minutes swarmed by and ten minutes before the exam, my scantron was completely filled out.

I checked a few problems that I was uncertain with again and with that I was till finished five minutes before the bell. I turned in my test noticing, of course, Luke had already finished his. He was lazily tapping against the desk. Once I sat down he placed his hand on my thigh sending me a reassuring squeeze telling me I did just fine.

Class was dismissed after the bell and Calum met me right at the door. He was holding the flashcards we had prepared together along with the outline for the essay.

"I'm so screwed guys. So. Screwed." Calum frantically flicked through the note cards while we all walked toward second period, "If I don't get a good grade on this I won't be able to see Mina all week."

"Calum." I placed my closest hand to him, the other holding Luke's hand, on Calum's bicep. He looked up from the papers, worry arched on his expression. "You will do great. We studied more then enough for this and you are more then prepared. You could take this test blindfolded and still get an A."

"But how would I see the test if I'm blindfolded?" He asked, taking me seriously.

"Calum, it was a figure of speech which is..?' I asked testing him to which he answered right away. "An expressive use of words that are used in other then their literal sense for special effect."

"See" I pointed out, "You can do this. Hey, If I can somehow even finish my math exam you sure as hell can ace this test without a problem."

We reached the room to which Luke opened the door for all of us.

"Okay, okay." He huffed, "I can do this, I can do this" Calum was pumped up, "I CAN FUCKING DO THIS." He practically screamed when we all entered the room.

Mr. Stewart and every single other student's head shot up. Thankfully, Mr. Stewart was a laid back teacher and just started laughing.

"Mr. Hood, we all know you can do this but please refrain with the language in my classroom." He chuckled. Calum bowed his head, "Oops, sorry everyone."

I was still trying to stiffle my laughter while I took my seat with a bemused Rylan. "He's something isn't he?" Rylan questioned and I nodded.

The bell rung once again, it was time for our last test of the day and then I would be able to head to my bed and eat tubes and tubes of ice cream. I had a secret stash in the back on the refrigerator that was well hidden from Silvia and Lea who were unforutnately back. Their was still quite a bit of tension with Siliva but I was able to successfully avoid her since. Like when she made dinner, I always ate after she went to bed and always made sure I was out the door before her in the morning.

Breaking my thoughts, Mr. Steward instructed us to began and I broke into the test wanting this to end fast. Compared to the rest of my exams the final was a breeze and I had finished quite early.

Once Mr Stewart took my test away, I noticed how Rylan and I were the only ones done. Luke had his head bowed making me assume he fell asleep.

A piece of paper was slipped toward me, it was from Rylan since we were not allowed to talk. I opened it to his scratchy hand writing,

I need to ask you something

I wrote back,

Yes?

He quickly snatch the note, fastly writing down,

I had a really, really good time yesterday and it made me realize something. I just don't want to be more then friends anymore...so do you want to be my girlfriend?

My eyes buldge out of their sockets, in no way was I expecting this. I bit my lip, as I answered,

Yeah. I will be your girlfriend

...

I was practically dragging Luke down the hall toward our math classroom. Mr. Garrick ensured to all of us that grades would be posted once the day was over.

Unfortunately, when we reached the room, a mob of students were all crowded among the paper posted on the wall. We were the last ones ones to see our grades as soon as the people in front were finished.

A mixture of looks of horror and happiness peered from the students making my heart thump louder.

Maybe I didn not do as well as I expected, maybe I did even worse. But I needed at least a B on this final to recieve a B in the class. And with that, I would secure at least being able to fill out the application for NYU since they were due soon.

My head was pounding as I scanned for my identification number, once I found that I slide across the paper.

My heart stopped.

"Cayden?" Luke turned my shoulder to make sure I was okay. I had been in that position for a goo straight minute.

I practically tackled Luke.

"I got a fucking A-, a fucking A-." I sobbed of pure happiness in his shirt, "I got a fucking A- Luke."

I could feel the vibrations of his chuckle, "I told you sweetheart you could do it."

I looked up at him, my arms still around his waist. Our eyes locked, I knew it was now or never. So I crashed my lips onto his.

Our lips moved swiftly in sync like he had been waiting for this as much as I have been. My body was purely lit on fire tainted with a hint of need. Adrenaline coursed through my veins, this was more addicting then any of the cliche firewroks, more sensational then the movies.

My hands raised to his hair, tugging him down toward me more. I never wanted to let go, somehow I felt as if this is were I belonged, where I was meant to be. RIght here with Luke in my arms.

Bu all of that, all of it was gone, the passion, the blaze everything was gone when he pulled away, gasping for breath. His eyes widened three times larger then normal once he absored what just happen.

And then Luke does the unthinkable. He runs away from me.

The End
