Chapter 34

"Ryder, let's dance!" Katrina shrieked, pulling him to the dance floor. He grimaced and reluctantly joined her. 

Daniel held out his hand to Sarah, and she also took it, leaving me and Logan at our table. "So, would you like to dance?" He asked.

I took a deep breath and looked at the crowd of people. "Let's wait for a little bit." I told him. "I'm sorry, it's just that I've never danced before."

He smiled. "That's perfectly fine."

We grabbed some refreshments from the front table and sat down without saying a word. Logan really did look very handsome, and I couldn't even look at him without blushing.

"You know, if you wanted, we could try dancing now." I said shyly. He smiled.

"Of course"

He took my hand and pulled me to the middle of the dance floor, placing his hand on my waist. I took his hand with my left and placed my right hand on his shoulder. Suddenly, he began to move, twirling me along with him. I couldn't believe it. I was dancing with such an incredible guy.

I looked to my right and saw that Daniel and Sarah were dancing just like we were, and so were Ryder and Katrina, even though Ryder looked bored out of his mind.

"So, I know I've told you this ready, but you really do look amazing," Logan whispered. I blushed.

"Thank you Logan. You do too."

"Thanks"

Someone tapped Logan on the shoulder, and he backed away to reveal Daniel. He smiled at him, then looked at me. "Would it be alright if I borrowed Annalise for a dance?" He asked.

"Be my guest"

Daniel nodded in appreciation, then took my hand and slid his other hand onto my waist.

"Enjoying yourself?" He asked as we swayed to the music.

I blushed a bit. "Yes, what about you?"

He smiled. "It's going pretty well. Sarah seems like a nice girl."

"That's good."

It was quiet for most of the time, and we danced to a song or two until something broke the silence.

"I can't believe you!" We heard a girl shriek. We looked over to where the sound was coming from. It's funny, we both knew exactly who was creating the drama: Katrina.

"All I'm saying is that you don't have to be a jerk to everyone you see." Ryder said calmly.

"It's not my fault that people can't be as amazing as me!" She yelled.

Ryder rolled his eyes. "Whatever."

Katrina stormed out of the room, leaving the room silent. After a few seconds or so, people began to talk silently amongst themselves.

"Whoa." Daniel said. "Can you say drama queen?"

I laughed. "Yeah. Poor Ryder."

"Hey, he's the one who asked her." Daniel reminded me.

"I know, but still." I told him. "I feel bad."

"Feel bad about what?" I let go of Daniel and turned around. Ryder had appeared almost out of nowhere. I stared at him in shock.

"Katrina," I said. "She left."

He nodded. "Yeah, but I'm not complaining. Do you want to dance?"
