Chapter 7

During my next three classes, I tried to pay attention, but some were just so long and boring. I could hardly stay awake.

After my conjuring class was finished, I looked at my schedule: Attack and Defense.

Oh great.

The paper said to meet outside next to the lake, so I looked out the nearest window. In the distance, there was a large lake with a small crowd of people next to it.

I ran down the stairs until I reached the ground floor, and I found an entrance to the outdoors. As I was walking towards the lake, I heard giggles behind me.

I turned around to see the two girls that had directed me to the prison. They were both dressed in light pink uniforms.

"Hey Anna!" Katrina said.

"It's Annalise." I said quietly. She ignored me.

"I heard you took your test today!" Katrina said, giggling. I stared at her. "Now I know I'm not in charge, but aren't you supposed to actually have powers in order to attend here?" She asked as penny burst out laughing.

I ignored her and walked away. I did have powers, but I couldn't use them in situations where I was shy. That made it difficult for me here.

As I approached the group, I saw Daniel waiting for me. I walked over to him.

"Attention, everyone!" A man called out. There was silence, and the man continued. "Today we are going to practice controlling elements. More specifically, water." He announced. "Now, I want you to line up in alphabetical order by your last name."

There was a lot of noise after he said this. Everyone was discussing their last names with people. And then I realized something:

My last name was Baker.
