I had just finished brushing my teeth when I heard a knock on the door. I walked over and opened it, wondering who could be here at this time of night.
"Ryder?"
There he stood at my door, in a tuxedo. He looked good.
Immediately he started laughing.
"What?"
"I came to see you, but I guess I caught the bunnies instead."
My eyes widened as I looked down in horror. I was already wearing my pajamas. Not only that, but they had bunnies all over the bottoms.
I mentally cursed at myself as I opened the door the rest of the way to let Ryder in.
"So how did it go tonight?" He asked.
"It went pretty well. What about you?"
"It was fine. Did you dance with anyone?"
"I actually danced with two people."
"Good for you," Ryder said. "Get any numbers?"
"Nope."
"Too bad." He said, walking up to me. He touched my hair. "Your hair looks different."
"I know, it's straight." I said, blushing at his touch.
"I like your normal hair better."
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah. You still look really nice though." He replied, sitting down on my bed.
"So did you dance with a lot of girls?" I asked him.
He shrugged. "Not really. Who were the guys you danced with?"
"Well, one was named Nate," I said. "And the other wouldn't tell me his name."
"Hmm," Ryder said. "Mysterious. Are you going to try to find him?"
"Oh yeah," I said immediately. "He was amazing."
Ryder laughed. "Oh really?"
"Yeah."
"That's good." He said. "So I wanted to know if you wanted to get breakfast with me tomorrow in town. Just thought we could maybe get out of here for a bit."
"Sure," I replied. "What time?"
"Uh, 8:30?"
"Yeah, that works for me." I told him.
"Alright," Ryder said. "I'm going to change and go to bed then. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Okay, see you tomorrow," I replied, shutting the door behind him.

Oh no! I was running late! It was 8:27, and I had just woken up. I ran into the bathroom and brushed my teeth, then began brushing out my hair. Although I had just woken up, I didn't feel tired at all. In fact, I felt the opposite. Almost... energized.
There was a knock on the door, and I panicked.
I opened the door for Ryder, and instantly started apologizing. "I'm so sorry!" I cried. "I just woke up! I'll be like ten minutes! I promise!"
"Calm down. It's fine. Still in your bunny pajamas, I see." Ryder said, laughing.
I sighed, embarrassed, and started getting ready. Ten minutes later, I opened the door and met Ryder out in the hallway.
"Alright, I'm ready to go." I said.
We walked down to the entrance and left the building, walking towards his shiny silver car. We rode to the restaurant in silence, mostly because I only could think of last night. Did that really happen? If it did, I hope I find him.
We pulled into the parking lot of Amanda's, and we entered, ordering some coffee. After it was brought out for us, I sipped the hot liquid from m mug and ordered some pancakes. Ryder ordered the same, and we both sat in silence for a couple of minutes.
"So," Ryder said. "If you find this guy, are you going to go out with him?"
"I would like to," I said. "But I don't know if I'll find him. And I don't know if he would want to go out with me either."
"I think he would," Ryder said, sipping his coffee.
Just then, the girl I hated with a burning passion approached us at our table.
"Hey Anna!" Katrina said.
"Annalise," I corrected her.
"Whatever," She said, waving it off. "Were you at the Masquerade Ball last night? I'm sorry I have to ask, but with everyone wearing masks last night, your ugly face didn't immediately stick right out to me."
I sighed, looking at Ryder. He shook his head, telling me to ignore her.
"Ryder, were you there last night?" She asked.
"Yes I was."
"Oh! Maybe we danced together!" She squealed.
"Maybe," Ryder replied. "But it's not likely. I try to only dance with the pretty girls."
