Chapter 35

I looked over to Daniel, who did not have the happiest expression on his face.

I turned back to Ryder nervously and took his hand. "Okay."

We walked to the dance floor, and he put his hand on my waist. "Nervous?" He asked, chuckling.

"N-no," I stuttered.

"You don't have to deny it, most girls get that way around me."

I smiled a little as Ryder began to dance with me. He spun me around slowly to the music, and I stayed quiet.

"So, how is it going with Logan?" He asked. I looked up at him.

"It's great." I replied. "He's sweet."

"Oh."

We danced to the rest of the song in silence until Logan came up to me and Ryder.

"Excuse me, I was wondering if I could dance with my lovely date." He said to Ryder, trying to be polite. Ryder looked at me, then slowly took his hand off my waist.

"Of course." He said through clenched teeth. He stepped away, and Logan smiled down at me.

"Hey again," he said.

"Hi," I said nervously.

"Do you want to go outside for some fresh air?" He asked.

"Sure"

Logan slid his arm around my waist, and we walked out of the entrance and out the front doors. He walked down a few of the steps, than sat down, patting the step next to him. I sat down nervously, wondering what he wanted to talk about.

"You really do look amazing," he said. "I have a beautiful date." I blushed and looked at the ground nervously. He scooted closer, letting our arms and knees bump into each other. My heart started pounding. Guys don't usually sit this close to me.

"Thank you." I replied to him. He smiled, looking into my eyes. He brought his hand up and touched my cheek and leaned in. I closed my eyes, waiting. I felt his other hand move around my waist, pulling me closer to him. But nothing happened.

I opened my eyes, and Logan was frozen solid, just like those men in the dungeon not too long ago. I screamed, then looked to my left to see Ryder with a deadly look on his face.

"Ryder! Why would you do that?" I yelled, trying to break free from Logan's frozen grip.

He didn't answer, another voice did.

"Because we're here, sweetie."

I am SOOOO sorry for the late update. I couldn't figure out how I wanted the next part of the story to go. :(

But anyways, new question: who do you think is the other voice?
