"So I'm surprised you haven't asked me to the formal yet, Annalise." Ryder said as I followed him.

"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.

He turned around, giving me a weird look, then kept on walking.

"Usually all the new girls ask me out." He said in a cocky tone. "I'm irresistable."

I giggled a little bit.

"Don't deny it, sweetheart, you know you want me."

I blushed quite a bit. "N-no I don't!" I said quickly.

He laughed. "That proves it!"

I looked to the ground, feeling my face heat up. "No it doesn't. Anyways, who are you going to ask?"

"Probably Katrina or Penny." He said.

"Wait, I thought you didn't like them." I said.

He nodded. "I don't, but they're both pretty hot."

"Oh."

He chuckled. "Why? You jealous?"

"Of course not!"

"I know, you're really jealous of Sarah and what's his face." He said.

"Daniel? No I'm not." I said stubbornly.

"Uhh, you sure? You looked pretty upset when she asked you to talk to him." He told me. Okay, so maybe I was a little jealous, but only because I'm possessive over Daniel. But Sarah also seems like a nice girl and I want both of them to be happ--Wait, how did he know this?

"Hang on, how did you know she asked me to talk to him?" I demanded.

He shrugged his shoulders as we walked. "I just heard."

"You were eavesdropping?" I nearly yelled. He stopped walking and turned around to face me.

"I'm in charge of making sure you're okay. Of course I did." He told me.

"That doesn't mean you have to listen to my conversations!"

"Yeah, it pretty much does."

"No!"

"Yep."

"Ugh. Where is our next class? It's taking us forever to get there." I said.

He laughed. "It's right around the corner. Now I don't want to worry you, but we're supposed to be an advanced group, so you gotta at least try to be able to levitate a paper." Ryder said cockily.

I frowned and walked into the class around the corner.

"Good morning! You must be the new student! Annalise?" My new teacher said excitedly. I smiled and nodded. "Excellent. I'm professor Brown! We are going to have so much success in this class!" I smiled. She seemed really nice.

"Calm down, professor," Ryder said, laughing. "We don't want to scare her away, she's shy."

Professor Brown smacked his head. "Shut up, Ryder! I need to make a good impression!"

Ryder stood there laughing while rubbing his head.

Professor Brown started jumping up and down. "This is going to be so much fun!"
