Dewey flops onto my chest and pants.
I laugh, still catching my breath. "Glad to see you enjoyed it!"
He rolls his eyes and hugs my stomach, cuddling into me. I place my hand on his cheek, and my other one plays with his hair.
We rest like that, catching our breath.
But soon we hear someone trying to open the door.
Dewey snickers. "Now I'm glad I locked the door."
Now it's my turn to roll my eyes. I tap his shoulder to get him off. He groans and puts on his boxers and some fresh sweatpants.
I wear Dewey's shirt, which hangs like an over sized shirt for me, and put on some mini shorts, which no one can even see.
I walk up to the door and open it, but no one's there...
"What the...?" I whisper and when I look down laughs erupt from my mouth. "Eve!"
She giggles and WALKS and grabs my leg.
I stare at the 2 week old baby who can walk with my mouth wide open.
"Did she just-?" Dewey starts coming next to me, pointing at her.
I slowly nod and watch her hugging my leg and smiling up at us.
We hear footsteps running upstairs to our room and we come face to face with Louie.
He studies our appearance and snickers. "Sorry guys... hope she didn't interrupt anything..."
Ignoring the comment, Dewey speaks up, his voice breaking. "Did she walk up the stairs by herself...?"
Louie makes a fake confused expression then smiles. "What? Oh, pfft. Yeah. Eve can walk now. Didn't you hear?" He waves it off. "But whatever. You two were a little busy, no hard feelings." He smirks.
I tare my eyes from Eve and give Louie a cold glare. "Shut up."
Eve laughs. "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!"
FUCK!
Louie gasps and picks up his daughter from my leg. "EVE!" He yells. "That's rude!"
Dewey's trying so hard holding in a laugh. I can tell because he's tugging at the shirt and covering his mouth, jumping up and down. "BABE! SHE COPIED YOU!"
I tickle Little Eve's belly. "You silly goose!"
How did she do that?! She said her first word a day ago, and now she can walk up the stairs AND can copy people?! NU UH!
NO!
IT'S WEIRD!
She's growing too fast!
Is this going to be a normal thing? Eve being able to do normal things? Now I understand why Louie had the mushy food in his pantry.... Eve will eat it soon- Hell. She's probably eating it now.
I have no clue how they're so clam with this. It's horrifying! Parents always say, "they grow up so fast..." It usually doesn't fit, BUT WHAT THE HELL?! IT WORKS HERE! IT WORKS TOO WELL!
Maybe I'm over exaggerating.... After all, no one else seems to be worried....
I'm just glad my child will be like that- NOT THAT I THOUGHT OF IT BEFORE! It- It just came up.
I have no idea how I would react if my baby suddenly pass the SATs at age 10.
I'd feel dumb for sure... but worried, too.
