LOUIE POV
I bite my bottom lip.
If this was any other person's Mom's diary I wouldn't hesitate to read it.
But this was Athena's personal heirloom of her mother.
Would I be over stepping my boundaries with her?
Probably.
But some sort of invisible force was urging me to read this and it was way more powerful then the thought of what Athena might do if she catches me reading something so personal of hers.
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and with one shaky hand on the cover of the book I opened it, along with my eyes and began to read.
Dear Diary.
My baby girl is sooooo CUTE! She looks just like her Father, who, sadly is dying from disobeying our Queen. She has sentenced him to death and has ordered me to marry his older brother. I don't want too. But -. I don't want Athena growing up without a parent to guide her.
She already will have a hard life ahead of her. I don't want her not knowing who or what she really was alone. So I will have to marry him. I hope he won't be too horrible to me, I know he is still sore that I choose his brother over him. I guess only time will tell.
Why our Queen is so interested on my family is beyond me.
I'm sure it didn't have anything to do with the prophecy and that I am from a pure-blood family.
I'm also certain it wasn't because of the fact that my sister is Magica De Spell and the Queen has a personal vendetta against her, and she's taking it out on my family.
It couldn't be because of that?
Right?
I hope that my deal with the Queen will spare Athena from submitting to her. I hope that she won't be mad or upset that if Athena finds out she would have to give up her child if she should ever have one in return for saving Athena's life.
I stare at the first entry, a million of thoughts ran through my mind.
Athena would have to give up her child?
Did Athena get this far in the diary? Did she know? If she did then why hadn't she told me?
Wait.
Magica De Spell is Athena's Aunt too?
I guess that makes her and Lena...
Cousin's.
More family weirdness.
But I shouldn't be the one to talk.
Look at my family.
I hear laughter coming from the girl's room, snapping me out of my thoughts. I go back to reading.
The rest of the diary explains Athena and her Mom bonding, Athena's first words (which was MINE) to Athena's first steps, first temper tantrum (over cookies)
Cookies?
Really?
I smirk at that and wondered what my first temper tantrum was.
I made a mental note to as Uncle Donald that one next time I see him.
I finally get down to the last entry of the of her diary.
Dear Diary.
Athena has turned five last week, and she is starting to show signs of maturity of a woman in her twenties!
