Zerha and Dewey came down with Eve in her arms, but no Louie.

"Where's Louie?" I ask.

Zerha and Dewey glanced at each other, and my stomach tightened in fear at once.

"He -. Had to go out for a bit." Dewey told me, avoiding my eyes.

I narrow my eyes at him.

For some reason, I can always tell when he was keeping something from me. Dewey and I had gotten rather close since he and Zerha got together. I've been able to tell Dewey more of what was bothering me then Zerha or Louie.

"Right." I say, and grab his arm, pulling him towards the door.

"Athena -. I don't think - . " Dewey began, looking back at Zerha helplessly.

"Zerha,  I'm borrowing Dewey, you are in charge of Eve until we get back." I growled as I threw open the front door.

"O -. Okay." Zerha said, as she watched me and Dewey leave before anyone else can stop us.

"What was that about?" Dewey asked, as I continued to drag him away from the house and down the driveway. I dropped his arm roughly and whirled around to face him.

"You have a pretty good idea what goes on in Louie's head." I tell him.

Dewey blinked and shifted his feet nervously, and looked down at the ground.

"Do it." I snarl at him. "Find out where he is. NOW." I ordered.

Dewey's head slowly looked up at me, before he sighed, closed his eyes and we stood in the driveway in silence for a couple of minutes.

I knew he was using their telepathic link.

After what Louie had learned about Doofus and Theo. I had no doubt he's gone to seek revenge for me. I didn't want that.

Louie should still have his internal soul free from damn nation.

Unlike mine.

Unlike Eve.

I really didn't want Louie to become a killer demon.

Not for me.

Not ever.

ZEHRA POV

What's going on? Why is everyone keeping things from me? First Athena, then Matt, Louie... and now Dewey.

You'd expect our relationship to be honest, and it is! But what's with all the secrecy? Athena's dragging Dewey into all this, when all we wanted was a normal life...

We're not in the Manor because Goldie keeps talking to me about the prophecy, and giving fighting tips... Going on and on about how much she hates demons, and how I'm family with them.

This woman is actually pretty scary. She's a con artist. She can trick me into doing things I don't want to...

Such as break up with Dewey, hurt Athena, kill Athena... Who knows anymore?

I'm not saying I don't like Goldie, I do, but she doesn't understand our goal, and that will be a problem.

Eve tugs at my hair again, trying to make me play and NOT stare at the door my sister and boyfriend went through.

They're not...

No. Dewey wouldn't do that to me....

But then again, mom did tell me that's how guys were... and that's how dad was...

B- But Dewey's different. He won't hurt me.

Dad was different too. Till he left us, and scarred me forever...

No. Dewey wouldn't cheat... all these years, they have to mean SOMETHING!

"Zeza!" Eve says again, but for a split second, I thought it was Matt.

I look down at her and give her a sad smile. "What is it, Eve...?"

She giggles and hugs me. Her tiny hands go from half of my breast, to my shoulder.

No matter how much she tries to make me feel better, I can't stop thinking about Dewey and Athena.

What are the two hiding? And why are Louie and Athena drifting apart...?

LIAM POV

I was about to go to the portal to go to the demon realm, but-

"Well, well. If it isn't Liam..." A familiar voice says.

I growl. "Zaylen." I put on a fake smile and turn around. "Shouldn't you be- I don't know, 'Game Master-ing'?"

He rolls his eyes. "I would be..." He crosses his arms and kicks a rock. "If anyone needed help."

I groan. "Then leave me alone and re-help the person you helped last!"

He looks up at me, smirking, and his eyes glowing red. "You mean you'd be fine with me going to your g- Oh." he checks his watch, which is glowing red like his hair. "Sorry, Liam. We'll have to catch up next time! I have to talk to a guy about his girl..."

Wait- What guy?

AND WHERE DID HE GO!? HE JUST SLOWLY STARTED TO DISAPPEAR! THE HELL?!

ATHENA POV

"WELL?!" I snap at him.

He hesitates and looks in my eyes, hoping I'll change my mind, but no.

I want to know where my boyfriend is, and what he's doing.

"Y- you were right. He's going to-"

I cut him off by storming past him, clenching my fists and walking to where I know Louie is.

If I catch him fighting, we'll have to talk.

He needs to understand when I DON'T need his help. This is getting out of hand. He keeps getting in trouble for things that don't concern him, and frankly, I've had enough.

Louie, stop.

I don't need or want your help.

I'm sorry...

But this has to be stopped.
