Chapter 58 - Athena

MATT POV

Athena leaves the house, and Zehra just stares at the spot she was last. I hear Goldie chuckle, then she walks up to Zehra from behind me, and indulges her in a  hug. She says something to her, and gives her a sad look.

Damn, I wish I could hear what Goldie's saying!

"AND WE WON!" Scrooge announces. 

Eve claps, as if she was listening the whole time, and Scrooge smiles at her. Then Eve hugs me again.

I focus my attention back to Goldie and Zehra. 

My sister runs her hand through her hand and looks like she's trying to not cry, but why? 

Why wold she have to-

I see something I' sure I wasn't supposed to..

Goldie smirking at Zehra's reaction.

I  remove Eve's arms around my legs and walk to my sister and Goldie. 

Look, Athena's mom might have "removed" me from the family, but Zehra will ALWAYS be my sister. No changing it.

When Goldie sees me approaching them, she smiles at Zehra, then goes to Scrooge and wraps her arms around his chest.

For some reason, it remind me of Emma...

"Zeza? You okay?" I ask my sister and place a hand on her shoulder.

She hides her face in her hands and slumps onto the floor. "No, Matt. Goldie can't understand we CHANGING the prophecy, and she keeps bugging me about it! Says, 'Oh, I'm so happy you are going to protect my nephew from those disgusting demons...!' IT DRIVES ME INSANE!" She says in her best Goldie impression.

I sit on the floor with her and bring my sister in a hug. She rests her head on my chest and watches Eve playing with Drake Mallard. Well, no. I'M watching that... "Hey, we will figure this out, okay?" I say rubbing circles into her back.

She nods. "I love you, Matt-a-roni..." 

I chuckle. She hasn't called me that in a while. "I love you too, sis."

ATHENA POV

I find Louie but he was talking with Webby at McDuck Manor, so I hang back to listen.

"You really didn't need to cause a fight with Dewey." Webby was saying, as they sat next to each other on the couch, Louie had his head in his hands, and Webby was soothing him by rubbing his back.

"Why do you always seem to take his side, Webs?" Louie groaned out. He lifted his head and rested them on his hands as they stared into the roaring fire.

"From what Dewey told me, you were the one who overreacted at this whole thing with Eve. Then, you keep rubbing it in, when you invited all of us BUT him and Zehra." She paused, "What's really bothering you, Louie?" She asked.

I held my breath.

"Athena..." I hear him mumble.

I felt tears swell in my blue eyes and bit my bottom lip to keep from choking back a sob.

"What about her?" Webby asks gently.

"I -. I know she is still keeping things from me. Important things. Earlier -. Eve -. She said that Theo talks to her, telepathically -. Like me, Huey, and Dewey do, and that Athena has been hearing him too. I -. I just don't understand why she wouldn't tell me that, and now -. Our five-year-old daughter knows about how she came into the world."
